During Baby Loss Awareness Week, we remember all the beautiful babies gone too soon. Though they may no longer be physically with us, they will forever hold a special place in our hearts and remain a cherished part of our families. 💗

Every name deserves to be remembered. Every family deserves to have their loss acknowledged.

As we light a candle on Thursday, 15th October in their memory, if you would like us to share your baby's name and honour their memory within our community - please share their name in the comments below or send us a DM.

We’re very grateful to the brilliant Martina Quinn, CEO of Alice Public Relations for sharing her experience and expertise in advocacy and communications during our strategic communications workshop yesterday.

As we continue our campaign to ensure that all Irish children born through surrogacy have an equal legal relationship with both of their parents, Martina’s insight and advice were invaluable.

We came away with plenty to reflect on and a clearer sense of how we can strengthen our communications strategy and ensure our message reaches the people who need to hear it.

Thank you, Martina, for your time, generosity and expertise. We’re looking forward to putting what we’ve learned into action. 💚

Looking forward to watching RTÉ Investigates tonight at 9.30pm on RTÉ One, exploring the fertility community and the experiences of those navigating fertility treatment in Ireland.

For many parents who ultimately pursue surrogacy, the journey begins long before they reach that decision. Some have experienced a long and difficult road through fertility clinics, often involving years of treatment, uncertainty and disappointment.

The journey to surrogacy can be incredibly long and stressful. The physical, emotional and mental challenges can be immense, taking a significant toll on individuals and families over time.

Strong regulation is vital across all areas of fertility care in Ireland to ensure safety, transparency and, most importantly, the protection of those who need to explore alternative pathways to creating their families.

Thank you to everyone who has bravely shared their fertility journeys. 🫶

🌟 We’re delighted to share that IFTS spokesperson Cathy Cathy Wheatley has been nominated for the Courage Award at the Image Mother Awards 2026! 🌟

In recent years, Cathy has shown incredible courage and fearless advocacy as she has campaigned for vital surrogacy legislation, working to ensure that her child, and thousands of other children across Ireland, can have the same rights, recognition and legal protections as their peers.

Cathy has selflessly shared her own personal story to help drive policy change, raise awareness and give hope and inspiration to others.

She is a true hero and an inspiration to so many. ❤️
We wish Cathy the very best of luck at the awards on 21st October.

We’ll be cheering her on every step of the way!

Irish Families Through Surrogacy were honoured to contribute to the Surrogacy Information Morning with Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan Solicitors, Aileen Gittens and Annette Hickey.

Our spokesperaon Cathy Wheatley and committee member Amy Hamilton White shared their experiences and our most up to date research findings while chair was on hand to advise attendees one to one on their queries.

We joined other Irish advocacy groups and legal professionals for an informative and comprehensive morning for intended parents advising on every aspect of how to begin an ethical and safe surrogacy journey.

We were delighted to meet and speak with so many intended parents and share our experiences with them. Thank you to Aileen and Annette for the opportunity!
