Last night, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. for an enlightening talk, Geometric Patterns in Manuscripts: Where Science Meets Art, in collaboration with . 📐 ✨
Dr. Ekizler captivated the audience with her deep knowledge, guiding us through a fascinating comparative analysis of Islamic manuscripts adorned with intricate geometric patterns. She explored the historical evolution of these designs, their connection to art and architecture, and how ancient scholars and artists approached geometry as a profound cultural and intellectual tradition.
We had the opportunity to visit the Trinity College Library, and we met Dr. Anna McSweeney .anna, art historian and lecturer at Trinity College Dublin. It was a privilege to discuss art and history in such an iconic setting.
We also visited the Chester Beatty Museum , where we explored an incredible collection of geometric pattern pieces. The museum’s collection offered a stunning glimpse into the timeless beauty and complexity of these designs.
