Swipe for a little flavour from a wonderfully uplifting evening recently with the Cabinteely Gospel Choir🎶 who truly stood by ASI with their beautiful rendition of Stand By Me.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along on the night and supported ASI, and to the choir for sharing their incredible voices and generosity with us.

It was a special evening, and your support is greatly appreciated.

Meet Louise McSharry; broadcaster, podcaster, and our Memory Walk supported by Aviva 2026 ambassador 💜

Louise is walking this year with her mam in mind, who is living with early onset Alzheimer’s. Like so many families across Ireland, she knows firsthand what this disease takes and why supporting Memory Walk matters so much.

This September, walk with Louise and thousands of others in support of the 64,000+ people in Ireland living with dementia, and the families walking alongside them every day.

Great news! Our Young Onset & Early Stage Dementia Activity Club in Letterkenny has been selected for the Tesco Community Fund at the Letterkenny store in Donegal.🩵

Tesco customers get to decide how their local Tesco Community Fund is shared by voting for their preferred cause in store by placing the blue token they receive at the checkout in the donation box of the local good cause they would most like to support.

Then, at the end of the 12 weeks, the number of tokens is counted, and up to €1,500 is distributed proportionally between three local good causes. The more tokens a local good cause gets, the larger share of the donation they receive.

We’re featured for the next 12 weeks, and your blue tokens can make a real difference!

Thank you to Tesco Ireland for supporting us🩵

We were thrilled to welcome the organisers of the hugely successful Park Car Show to our National Office in Blackrock, where they presented an incredible cheque of €43,433🙌

Pictured are Stephen, Amy, and Rory presenting the cheque to our CEO, Andy Heffernan, alongside Eila and Amy from our Fundraising Team.

A massive thank you to everyone who supported the event and helped make it such a success. Special thanks once again to our wonderful volunteers from Aviva, SSE & PTSB👏

The Herbert Park Car Show continues to go from strength to strength each year, and we are so grateful to have been beneficiaries for the past two years.

My name is Maria Murray and I’m a chef at The ASI’s Newtowncunningham Day Centre in Donegal.

I take pride in creating healthy, nutritious, hearty homemade meals for our clients in the hope that they’ll not only enjoy them, but they will make them feel at home while in our care.

While working at the Newtowncunningham Day Centre, I like to take time when I can to speak gently with the clients, ask them about their week and ensure they feel at ease to chat to me if and when they want to. I feel that communication is key and ensuring we do all we can to keep our clients happy and safe.

I penned a short poem to explain my perspective on what it might be like for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. I hope you enjoy reading.
