We encourage you to seize this opportunity to strengthen protections for migrant workers. Recognising the intersecting vulnerabilities many migrants face, greater job mobility is essential to reducing exploitation, upholding dignity, and ensuring safe and fair working conditions for all.

Attending the Swazi Community in Ireland Gathering in Ireland 2026, taking place today Saturday, 25 July 2026 at Anu's Kitchen.
The theme of this year's event is "Empowerment, Transformation and Resilience in the Migrant Journey" ( ). The gathering is bringing together members of the Swazi community and friends to celebrate our culture, strengthen community connections, and inspire one another through shared experiences. The Africa Centre Ireland was privileged and delighted to be here as guest speaker to contribute to the event. We wish the Swazi community all the best and amazing work uniting their together. We would like to thank everyone who took part in our workshop at the Carraig Accommodation Centre, as well as the management for coordinating with us.

During the workshop, we provided information on the international protection application process and addressed issues such as mental health.

We also raised awareness of the increase in violence and racism in Ireland.

We were delighted to be part of the Irish Development Education Association - IDEA Annual Conference 2026: Education for Liberation – GCE in an Age of Crisis.

It was a wonderful opportunity to listen to participants’ experiences, exchange ideas, build connections with inspiring speakers, and strengthen relationships with organisations working for social justice and transformative education.

We were proud to participate in the Irish Development Education Association - IDEA Annual Conference 2026: Education for Liberation – GCE in an Age of Crisis at the Grand Hotel Malahide.

Our workshop “From Conscientisation to Collective Action: Freirean Dialogues Across Africa and the Diaspora” was a success, creating a space for dialogue and reflection inspired by Paulo Freire’s ideas and methods.

Together, we explored how community education can foster critical consciousness, collective action and social transformation, while sharing the work of Africa Solidarity Centre Ireland.

We would like to thank the participants who made this exchange possible; we are delighted to know that this marks the start of a series of workshops and community service activities guided by the principles of liberating education and intersectional feminism.
