My Women’s Aid Walk 100 Miles in September pack has arrived 💜

This September, I’m taking on the 100-mile challenge to support Women’s Aid and the important work they do for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

As fellow Alexandra College alumnae, we also have a connection through Alex Women’s Charity awc1901 which supports Women’s Aid. I’d love to encourage others to get involved in the challenge too.

Whether you walk the full 100 miles, take on a smaller challenge, or support someone who is fundraising, every contribution helps.

It would be lovely to see some of our alumnae community taking part and supporting such an important cause. 💜

Four newspaper headlines today.

Across the front pages were stories of women whose lives had been taken by men. Different cases, different circumstances, but together they serve as a stark reminder that violence against women remains one of the greatest challenges facing our society.

We educate girls to be courageous, ambitious and compassionate. We must also ensure they grow up in a society where they are safe, respected and free from fear. Equally, we must raise our boys to understand that strength is found in kindness, respect and responsibility.

Behind every headline is a family whose lives have been changed forever. We owe it to them—and to future generations—not to become desensitised, but to continue the conversations, education and actions that can make a difference.

Today, our thoughts are with every family living with unimaginable loss.

Alexandra College Alumnae Spotlight 🎬

We are delighted to celebrate Alexandra College alumna Ash Corrister (Class of 2001) whose feature film No Ordinary Heist arrives in cinemas this March 2026.

Now based in Spanish Point, Co. Clare, Ash’s screenwriting career has gone from strength to strength. After receiving a scholarship to train in screenwriting at University of California, Los Angeles, her work has been showcased twice at the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum.

Her short script Shadow won funding from Screen Ireland, while her play Savages was staged by Prime Productions. Since then, Ash has been selected for the BBC Writers Voices Programme, The Writers Lab, and Series Mania Writers Campus, and received an Agility Award from the Arts Council of Ireland.

Ash is represented by Curtis Brown and currently has two television series in development in the UK.

We wish Ash every success as No Ordinary Heist hits cinemas — a fantastic achievement and an inspiring journey for our Alexandra community.

The day promises something for everyone: 18 Hole and 9 Hole competitions for seasoned players, lively putting challenges, and even a special ‘Introduction to Golf’ session for beginners. Whether you are an experienced golfer, an aspiring player, an alumna looking to reconnect, or a current student stepping onto the fairway, you are most warmly welcome.
