I love how the baby is responding to their mum. There is no other person in the world that can do this for your baby. You are an essential and vital part of their wellbeing physically and mentally. The medical staff deliver exceptional care but they need to feel you, smell, hear you. I always sang very quietly because am a horrendous singer but thankfully it wasn't until many years later that they learnt of my utter lack of musical ability. That singing out us through endless surgeries and procedures.

Statistics still show the significance of talking to a fellow NICU parent. Sharing experiences has a positive effect on parents currently in the NICU. It can be an isolating time and just been heard by someone who has been in your shoes is good for our wellbeing
