Despite not been out on our usual spot on North Earl Street, for some time we returned last night to do a Christmas outreach. It was lovely to see all the service users again as well as our volunteers. We were joined by new faces and old friends who came along to work alongside us. We set up at around 7.pm and despite not publicly announcing our Christmas outreach on any social media pages there was already a a queue of service users waiting. We had a fairly good table. We had bakery products, microwave meals, sandwiches, fruit items, toiletries, snacks, cans and bottles of minerals, water, selection boxes, tubs of sweets, etc. We also had a clothing stall in operation. We were then joined by the Kilmacud Scouts, who came from Stillorgan bearing hot food, Christmas shoe boxes, selection boxes, gifts, etc. Also joining us last night was a lovely group from Northern Ireland. Rosemary, Jannet and PJ, who also arrived bearing gifts, drinks, toiletries, snacks, tubs of sweets, etc.
Altogether there was at least 8 tables out.
Last night on North Earl Street, it looked like a mini Christmas festival. Every service user that used the service went away very happy.
