As a result of the arrival of a new Pool Table into the NRH during last summer, kindly donated by The Billiard Company, a pool competition was included for the first time in years as one of the sporting activities in the 2025 NRH Sports Championship, which took place last November.

We are so grateful to Darren and John from the Billiard Company for this amazing generosity to the NRH.💚

The NRH partners with a wide range of external sporting and support organisations for the Annual NRH Sports Championship. This four-day event in the NRH introduces patients to a variety of different sporting events and activities, in a fun, competitive, inviting and fully inclusive environment. These sporting and support organisations will then also provide excellent opportunities for people of all abilities to begin or continue sport after discharge from the NRH. For many of our patients, the Sports Championship may be their first introduction to certain sports during their rehabilitation journey in the NRH.

Over the years, the NRH Foundation has supported this annual Sports Championship through the funding of various elements of this event, from participants T-shirts to water sponsorship to the funding of certain equipment used as part of the event.

The very Best of Luck to Chloe, Adam, Ali, Ava and Breanna, who are all running in the Regeneron Great Limerick Run 2026 Half Marathon event on Sunday, May 3rd 2026, to raise funds for the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH). The group decided to take on this challenge after they experienced first-hand the work of the NRH when their uncle became a patient of the service.

As part of the AIB Community €1 Million Fund, the NRH Foundation is now able to accept donations (via payzone) on the AIB Mobile Banking App.

We are delighted to confirm that NRH Foundation has been awarded a €6,000 grant from the AIB Community €1 Million Fund 2025 💚

This funding will support an innovative new initiative the Patient Gaming Support Service (GAMER) which will develop a dedicated gaming space with adaptive technologies to further support rehabilitation at the NRH.

Through this project, the NRH aims to enhance social engagement, motivation, and patient experience as part of the rehabilitation journey.

A sincere thank you to the AIB Community Fund for supporting this important initiative.

Ciaran McCann dropped by the NRH recently to make the amazing donation of 108 Easter Eggs for the patients who had to spend Easter in the NRH this year. This generosity is hugely appreciated by all and was a real treat for the patients when they didn't get to spend Easter at home with loved ones this year.🐣
