There will be another UCD Stand Out at 1 PM tomorrow, Friday 28th Nov, with a rally between the lake and Tierney for those who can attend, as part of the Irish Congress Trade Union's call for a National Day of Workplace Action in solidarity with Palestine (in advance of Saturday's International Day of Solidarity). Bring a sign or poster and join the rally, or stand outside your workplace if you can't come to main campus!

UCD JfP are co-organising the standout together with the student organisers from BDS, SNF, members of SU, and other student societies, and with the support of UCD unions.

It would be great if as many people who are on campus as possible can attend!

REMINDER: UCD Walk Out for Gaza, Thurs, 16th Oct 1 PM!

UCD BDS and UCD Justice for Palestine are asking UCD students and workers to join this national Workplace Standout for Gaza on 16th October at 1 PM. Walk Out For Gaza with us - join the rally being organised by UCD students in front of Newman Arts Block (across from Tierney) at 1 PM. As well as UCD student and staff speakers, Sarah Clancy will be there to galvanise us into action as we gear up for a renewed campaign for a full academic boycott of Israeli universities and research partnerships at UCD.

UCD BDS and UCD Justice for Palestine are asking UCD students and workers to join this national Workplace Standout for Gaza on 16th October at 1 PM. Walk outside your workplace with a flag or a sign calling for the end of apartheid, genocide and complicity, and if you can, join the rally being organised by UCD students in front of Newman Arts Block (across from Tierney) at 1 PM.

If staff, academics, researchers or students from UCD would like to march together at this Saturday's big national demonstration ( 4 Oct), please join us at 12:15 outside of the Hugh Lane Gallery. We can gather there and then march on together as a group. It would be great to meet other folks and share in solidarity! Look for a UCD Justice for Palestine sign.

Academics for Palestine has just published publicly a letter sent to Orla Feely on 12 September, reiterating calls to withdraw from Israeli partnerships and commit to excluding Israel from further partnerships at institutional and EU levels. We haven't received any response. Feel free to share widely.

"With the recent UN report on Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the expanded invasion of Gaza City, and the renewal of campus activism at UCD, we are publishing a letter written to UCD President Orla Feely expressing our opposition to continued UCD partnerships with complicit Israeli universities such as Technion. We renew our call for UCD management to engage with the democratic demands of students and staff, as well as fulfil its obligations to protect human rights and end its complicity in Israeli state violence. We repeat our demands that UCD end its current partnerships with Israeli universities, commit to refusing any future such partnerships, and to join efforts that seek to exclude Israeli universities from European funding initiatives. We support those protesting against the university’s ongoing complicity."

Join UCD Justice for Palestine tomorrow, Thurs 5 Dec 1 PM in UCD Newman, ground floor, across from the Bluebird cafe coffee dock, for readings and tributes in honour of Refaat Alareer and all those students, writers and academics displaced, deprived of education, or killed in the ongoing scholasticide in Gaza!

UCD Justice for Palestine and members of Academics for Palestine, UCD Student's Union, UCD BDS, and UCD Islamic Society are organising a Palestine solidarity event to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Prof. Refaat Alareer, whom many of you will know as the author of the poem 'If I Must Die' (https://ifimustdie.net/). The event will also bear witness to all those killed and impacted by the ongoing scholasticide and genocide in Gaza.

Join us for readings of poetry and fiction by Refaat and writers in his creative writing workshops, and for tributes and readings from some of his former students here at UCD, and show your solidarity in protest against scholasticide!

Place: Newman ground floor concourse, in the space across from the Bluebird coffee dock (on the platform outside entrance to Geography.)
