Every time a family from a new county contacts us and shares their story, we light up that county purple.

And it’s not just one family from each county — we are hearing from multiple families in the same counties, all sharing their own experiences of struggling to access the services and supports their children need.

We are now hearing heartbreaking stories from counties right across Ireland. 🇮🇪

This is not one county. This is a national issue.

Our children and families deserve better, and action is needed now.

Yesterday the campaign met with An Taoiseach Michael Martin and Deputy Barry Heneghan to discuss the crisis of special education. It is hard to tell if the Taoiseach took on board our concerns around special education places, the number of SNAs in the system etc but he was genuinely interested in what we had to say about the Relate Framework. We will not stop campaigning on these important issues and will be sending out correspondence to those who have signed up to the campaign very soon.

A group that has been campaigning for better SNA provision in schools has welcomed the publication of a revised definition of the role of Special Needs Assistants in schools.
