Last night was freezing on the streets for our homeless pals 💔

One of our girls came up to us black and blue you will see her face in the pictures , she gave us permission to share her face and what happened to her , she was walking at the end of Grafton street and 2 foreign men grabbed her backpack and tore her to the ground , instead of taking the backpack , they dragged her down the road and beat the living daylights out of her , they even went as far as to bite her face !!!!

She was black and blue, her poor face was destroyed , she was shaking and crying telling me what happened, she is always with her fella but he went to get food and she was following him down

The Garda caught the men !! And brought her to hospital, she has a lump sticking out of her stomach , she has to go back to the hospital today to see what the lump is !!

She said to me " keira I wouldnt mind I kept shouting at them to take my backpack , I didn't care , I was so scared and all that was in my backpack was my medication but I don't think they wanted to rob me they wanted to hurt me more than rob me "

After this whole ordeal she wasn't offered a safe place for her and her fella , she got a tent of me and they went to find somewhere to pitch it offside somewhere safe !!

This country is so broken its actually disgusting at this stage!!! 💔

The reason I said they were foreign is because its a fact and its happening way too often on the streets, we constantly hear these stories so do not come for us and say we are racist, we are stating facts !!

This is how vulnerable women are on the streets !!

There is nobody to make sure they are safe !!!

It was the coldest night in a long time and we could really feel winter starting to set in, we had queues for sleeping bags and tents and not enough for everyone in the queue , its awful to have to tell people we have no tents left knowing that's a lifeline for them 💔

The hostels are not safe , not that the streets are any safer but they choose a tent over a hostel and that should say enough about the state of some of these hostels on offer ,there is bullying , intimidation and robbing 💔

One girl told us they had cages in there rooms under the beds to store all there stuff and they aren't great , she went back to her room and all her stuff was robbed !!! Imagine having nothing and the little you have is taken and you have to start again , imagine been a grown up and you have to share a room with 6 or 8 other people , how is anyone supposed to build a foundation from that !!

One of our lads left his tent to go get some food and when he came back it was gone everything in it was folded up and gone , the council done there rounds and gathered up his tent and belongings in one swoop, everything he had was gone , his wallet, his ID , his passport all his personal belongings gone !!! To see a grown man cry is heartbreaking , it was the end of the night so we hadn't even got a tent to replace the tent he lost 💔

One of our regular lads came up to us in his socks he had no runners !!! It was freezing!! , we had runners but they weren't the right size so he gave them to his mate and I'm going to get him a pair today and bring them into him , he's a really good friend of ours even before he became homeless 💔

These are real people trying to survive the most awful elements on our Streets and we are trying to help them navigate the system and help them stay alive , its so sad 💔

Please only give whats on our list , giving us stuff we don't ask for or need is wasting our time and the homeless people's time , so only whats on the list please , last week we received bags and we thought they were great the stuff on the top was what we asked for and when we got through it , there was flip flops and flimsy summer wear in it , we are a prevention team trying to keep people alive on the streets of Dublin ❤️

A gift from one of our homeless pals 💙

This might not seem like much to most people but it ment the world to us when one of the lads walked up and handed me this candle as a way of saying thank you for the help he receives from us weekly 💙

For someone who has nothing to go out of there way to show gratitude to us warms our hearts 💙

It was such a lovely gesture and I want to show people how Gratfull our pals are for the support they get from us , and we couldn’t do what we do without your support so thanks for supporting our homeless pals for the last 14 years we have been around 💙

Rip Antonia 💔

She was a beautiful soul who deserved so much more than to die on the streets of Dublin 💔

She often came to us on Friday night and was always so polite and grateful for any help we could offer her 💔

A mother with cancer we are helping needs help ❤️

We are helping a mother and her children who had to give up her job when she found out she had cancer and because of a system error she is NOT received a payment from the social welfare 💔

We are supporting her with food , electricity and heating at the minute but our account is low , we try and help everyone who struggles not just the homeless people

She needs her heating topped up , even if its just a euro , every euro adds up , all we seem to do is beg lately and we know that , its the only way we are able to help as many people as we can ❤️If you are in a position to help us , this is our official bank account details

Last night was so cold for our homeless pals 💔

Even though everyone was cold and wet there was so much Gratitude in abundance for going out to help them

One of our regular lads came up with a gift for me , it was a beautiful candle, he wanted to say thanks for looking after him all the time, i was blown away because to have nothing and still want to give something to show your appreciation was so special, kind and thoughtful, it was such a lovely gesture

Another one of our lads was chatting with the girls and we were talking about what we had growing up and what we ate , he said

' growing up in my house we had no windows only cardboard or wood on the windows and we lived on beans and toast ,.I started with nothing and still have nothing "

Our hearts sank

To see the sadness in his eyes was awfull , this poor chap had runners too small on him that were cutting his feet , you could see the bloodstains on his runners and socks,

We were able to replace both his runners and socks but this gesture is so small in the grand scheme of things , he still had to sleep on the streets for the 5th night in a row

You see he was brought up with nothing lived a life of poverty and trauma and still in his 30s stuck in the same cycle , he had nobody to show him better , no real role models or mentors to look up to , he has never known anything but trauma and poverty and he probably never will

One of our regular ladies came up unrecognisable!! She is 5 months clean , unfortunately it took for her to go to prison to get clean , she still did it !

But she was in a queue tonight for a tent and sleeping bag , she said she felt safer in prison than the hostel she was offered , she said

" I can't go back into hostels and stay clean , the one I was offered is full of drugs and when people seeing ya doing well they want to drag you down to make themselves feel better , and If i have a tent I don't have worry about drugs getting pushed on me , I can focus on staying clean and my next move to get out of this mess I'm in "

Homelessness is so complex, there is no quick fix but providing enough safe accommodation should be a priority, you cannot rebuild your life with no foundation to build from

Last night was awfull on the streets of Dublin 💔

The rain had everyone soaked coming to us last night 💔

We had people coming up to us with no coats and every layer they had was soaked right through to their skin , dripping wet waiting on us to give them a change of clothes to change into so they didn't have to sleep in the damp clothes and end up sick 💔

Handing out tents is like giving out a golden ticket , the relief in their faces knowing they have shelter for the night 💔

One lad told us he was sleeping with his sleeping bag over him and when he woke up he had no runners !!

Someone had taken his runners off his feet while he slept , he was shocked as they were only cheep penny's runners , he had to walk the streets in his socks until a women saw him and brought him to penny's to buy him a new pair of runners ,

Imagine taking someone's runners off their feet as they sleep on the streets 💔

We had a young girl come up to us with a massive bruise and a lump on her head and tears in her eyes , we asked her what had happened , she was in a laneway in her sleeping bag and someone tried to sexually assault her !!!

She said they were trying to pull her pants down and she had to fight them off and scream , she managed to escape with a lump on her head and bruises and had to leave all her possessions behind as she ran for her life !!!

She was so upset and couldn't beleive people could be so cruel to her when she has nothing she said

" I hate this life , I hate hostels i don't feel safe in them , i sleep on the streets and I'm attacked while trying to get some rest , its a dog eat dog world out here and I'm so sick of it and never felt so unsafe 💔

She had a friend to go and stay on their couch for the night 💔

When you hear these stories and see the people who are most affected it humbles you and makes you grateful for what you have in your life ❤️

To see people in such a bad way trying to survive the elements is heartbreaking, they are someone's sons and daughters and they never dreamed of being a homeless addict on the streets of dublin ,

but life dealt them blows they could not cope with and to block the pain , memories and trauma they turn to what can make them escape it all for a time ,

its so sad , we have never met anyone who does not have some form of trauma , its easy to judge people , its harder to understand were they are coming from but when you hear the stories it makes you understand, not everyone has coping skills to deal with what life throws at them 💔

We had another one of our regular guys and he is in a complete Psychosis , not from drink or drugs, his mind has checked out , he talks in circles and believes he is simulation and nothing is real , he is such a lovely guy but its absolutely depressing to see someone so vulnerable trying to survive out on the streets 💔

Food ready for our pals on the streets tonight ❤️

Every week it gets busier and busier, the demand is greater than ever ❤️

Our job is prevention , meaning we are trying to prevent deaths on the streets by supplying essential items , like sleeping bags, tents , clothes and food , hoping our pals survive another night on the streets ❤️

An awfull night for our homeless pals 💔

We need your help ❤️💙

With the unpredictable weather we have , sleeping bags and tents are a necessity for our pals survival on the streets of Dublin

Once it rains their sleeping bags and tents can get destroyed, with no where to clean them or keep them dry , we have to replace them frequently

They are a lifeline to so many of our pals on the streets , we are asking people to buy them from Decathlon or any good camping store and send them to Dan o briens butchers in Northside shopping centre coolock Dublin 17

As volunteers we rely on the support of the public for us to be able to help our homeless pals ❤️

One of our young homeless lads dying with the flu 💔

Imagine being so sick with the flu and you have to go back to your damp and cold tent to get better because there is no couples beds available 💔

This was one of our lads dilemma on Friday night, he was absolutely smothering, had damp clothes on and needed hot water for his lemsip drink , Ashley went and got him some in the shop and he was nearly crying he was so gratfull, he said

" All I want is a hot shower , clean pj's and my bed but all I have is a damp tent and damp clothes because my partner and I can't get a couples bed , we don't want to be separated because we are scared to go to hostels on our own " 💔

It's the little things we take for granted and we don't know how lucky we are to be able to be sick in peace at home , he absolutely broke our hearts looking at how poorly he was

We replaced his damp clothes , tent and sleeping bag , but having somewhere safe for his girlfriend and himself to go should be a right in 2026

In 2015 we occupied Apollo house because there was not enough beds but particularly couples beds available and 11 years later we still have the same problem , this couple cannot go home , its not an option for them due to family breakdowns and abuse 💔

Our young people deserve so much more than barely surviving each night 💔
