๐Ÿš‘๐ŸŒŸ Proud moment for our team! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿš‘

This week, one of our incredible responders, Jacques Kinane, was honoured at an awards ceremony hosted by the National Ambulance Service (NAS) North East for his outstanding actions in our community.

Jacques received well-deserved recognition during the NAS North East Staff Awards for stepping up when it mattered most providing life-saving intervention when a patient suffering chest pain went into cardiac arrest. His quick thinking, skill, and courage made a real difference at a critical time.

We are very proud to have Jacques as part of our Dublin Bay North CFR team, and our community is truly fortunate to have someone like him ready to help when it counts most.

๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Please join us in congratulating Jacques on this amazing achievement!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

During a cardiac arrest, quick and timely intervention is key. Weโ€™re incredibly proud of one of our Dublin Bay North Community First Responders who recently attended a call for chest pain which very quickly turned into cardiac arrest. Our responder played a key role in the successful resuscitation of a patient by providing immediate basic life support including CPR and defibrillation prior to the arrival of our colleagues in Dublin Fire Brigade. Outcomes like this are a powerful reminder of why early response and community-based care matter so much.

We would like to acknowledge the outstanding work of Dublin Fire Brigade, who had a rapid response team on scene within minutes. Their professionalism and expertise made a critical difference. As a group, we are proud to work closely with Dublin Fire Brigade and the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to be part of a system where teamwork truly saves lives within the community!!

A big shout out to firstaidsystems for their invaluable support behind the scenes enabling full data to be available from our machine following this event as well as quick and efficient replacement of equipment used.

Well done to everyone involved โ€” this is teamwork, training and community response at its very best. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿš‘

Book a taxi, call a friend (or mam or dad!)... but don't drive.

We don't want to see you, so please enjoy a SAFE night out.

In 2025, one of our dedicated Community First Responders was first on scene to a cardiac arrest in Dollymount. They worked alongside colleagues from National Ambulance Service (NAS) and Dublin Fire Brigade in providing urgent care at the scene.

The incident was filmed as part of the Virgin Media programme First Timers, which follows newly qualified paramedics as they begin their careers with NAS.

This call highlights the vital role that Community First Responders play within our communities. CFRs are volunteers who give their time to respond rapidly to life-threatening emergencies, often arriving in those critical first minutes before emergency services.

We are incredibly proud of our volunteers from Artane and Clontarf who attended this callout and of all CFRs who step forward when their community needs them most. Cardiac arrest survival depends on early CPR and defibrillation โ€” and every response truly matters.

Thank you to our colleagues in NAS and Dublin Fire Brigade for their continued professionalism, partnership and teamwork.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a Community First Responder or supporting our group, please feel free to contact us.

Yesterday, we organised a very informative talk on strokes for our own CFR group as well as a number of local groups. The amazing Dr Jane Buckley and Dr Rรณisin Costello from the Mater Hospital kindly gave up their time to provide an insightful and informative evening for over 45 volunteers.

Strokes are a regular callout for CFR groups and ensuring our skills are up to date is very important to ensuring the best quality of care for the community we serve.

This event could not have been done without the support of Loraine Kennedy from Clontarf Hospital or our colleagues in National Ambulance Service (NAS)
