Association of Medical Students Ireland - AMSI

Association of Medical Students Ireland - AMSI AMSI is the National Member Organisation (NMO) for the IFMSA, which represents all medical students

On the 9th of November 2013, medical students from across the country came together for an inaugural National Medical Student Summit. The summit led to the launch and establishment of the Association of Medical Students in Ireland (AMSI). For the first time since the late 19th century, Irish medical students have an organization that can facilitate dialogue at a national and international level. T

he national organization will aim to:

* Increase collaboration between the medical schools

* Represent the views of medical student on a national scale

* Promote medical student wellness

* Create a forum where students can discuss a range of scientific and social topics

We would like to bring to your attention the existence of this organisation and the individual school representatives. This organisation will provide an alternative method for individual medical schools to communicate with all Irish medical students.

We are proud to present the AMSI delegation to the 75th IFMSA March Meeting, taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 1–7 March,2026. ☘️

Medical students from across the island of Ireland will join fellow members of the IFMSA family in Copenhagen, both in person and online, for a week of collaboration, learning, and growth. Throughout the meeting, they will engage in sessions covering NMO management and the Standing Committees — SCOPE, SCORE, SCOME, SCOPH, and SCORP.

To kickstart 2026, on 9th January, with the support of IFMSA and our wonderful TdmT and ITDM trainers, we hosted our first Sub-Regional Training (SRT) in Dublin. ☘️

The training focused on equipping medical students with skills in disaster preparedness and response, through engaging workshops and discussions, and brought together AMSI members from across the island of Ireland. 🌐

Thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible. We’re proud of the engagement and compassion shown, and we look forward to continuing to unite healthcare students locally and globally. 🌍💚
