A community in mourning.

A body was found in Griffith Park, with Gardaí reported at the scene yesterday. The Gardaí have told us they are treating it as a “personal tradgedy” and that they are preparing a file for the Coroner. May he rest in peace.

📢 Call for Expressions of Interest – Halloween Events and Activities 2026 📢

Community groups and organisations in the Clontarf and Donaghmede LEAs are invited to host events and activities for Halloween 2026 which target young people age 4-18 years of age, from 23rd October – 31st October (inclusive).

Contributions of up to €750 is available for projects that celebrate older people, challenge ageism and promote positive ageing in our communities.

We welcome creative proposals including:
✅ Halloween Parties: Host a supervised party with music, games, and costume contests
✅ Pumpkin Carving/Decorating: Provide pumpkins, tools, and templates for a creative session with bonus points for the most imaginative design
✅ Costume Making Workshop: Design and create your own costumes using recycled materials or organise a Halloween costume swap shop
✅ Spooky story writing or film making: Encourage young people to write short horror stories or film mini scenes using phones or tablets.
✅ Halloween Treasure Hunt: Organise a scavenger hunt with clues and treats hidden around a safe area.
✅ Zombie Run: A fun run where participants dress as zombies or survivors
✅ Halloween Movie Night: Screen age-appropriate scary films
✅ Glow in the Dark Disco: Create a Monster Mash with UV lighting, glow sticks, face paint and luminous décor
✅ Face-painting and Halloween Make-up Tutorials: Teach fun Halloween make-up techniques
