A great performance from our U14 girls on Sunday morning against a strong Silverbridge side.. Dromintee capitalised on a strong breeze in the first half with some great support play and direct running. Dromintee went in at half time with the lead 1-11 to 1-03... A real hard working performance in the 2nd half gave the girls a good platform to build on the lead against a stiff breeze. Work rate and hard running across the team gave the girls a really good foothold with the girls taking their goal chances and scores to see the game out on a scoreline Dromintee 5-14 Silverbridge 2-09.. 🔵⚪🔵⚪ Silverbridge Gfc

Dromintee U12s attend Crossmaglen blitz

Dromintee U12s took 2 teams to the James Hughes memorial blitz in Crossmaglen on Saturday.

Conditions were terrible but both teams braved the incessant rain to produce some high quality football.

Our older team picked up some excellent wins in the group stage to progress to the Cup competition. However the draw was far from kind and they came up against a strong Clann Eireann side and just came out on the wrong end of the result. Clann Eireann would go on to win the competition outright.

Our younger team progressed to the knock out stages of the plate competition and had an excellent win over Crossmaglen to make the semi final. However they lost out by the narrowest of margins to a Naomh Malachi side that would go on to win that section of the competition.

So no silverware today (all we came home with was bag of very wet jerseys !!), but both teams can take consolation that they were only beaten by the eventual winners in each of their sections.
Plenty of positives to take away and if they continue with the effort and hard work shown today the future is bright for this group.

Many thanks to Cross Rangers for the invitation and a great day.
