Or maybe you can leave a word of encouragement and hope on our FB page :-)

'Hope for the Homeless', was founded out of the benevolent ministry of Good News Church and the compassion of its members. We believe in the power of Hope to help people in their times of stress. But many who are not members of our church or of any church, some from different religions or who don't subscribe to any faith, volunteer and partner with us in giving HOPE. We exist: To bring the hope and love of Christ to the homeless in both spiritual and practical ways. If we can bring some sense of hope, some expression of love and encourage faith into the hearts of those living on our streets them we have made a difference. We hold these Values:
+ Embracing the homeless with love, acceptance and compassion.
+ Showing love in practical ways.

It is getting worse. We might not be in positions of power to fix it but what we are doing is so important to give some hope and dignity to a broken world. These aren't simply facts and figures, their people, real people.

Since August 2016 we have quietly tried to bring some hope to those homeless on our streets or those who have fallen through the cracks of our social services. Without much fan fare or advertising etc... we have just tried to do our part for that one person, that son or dauther, that brother or sister, that dad or mum. It has been a mix of joy and sadness with lots of stories. Joy when we see a life lifted up and sadness when we see a life being crushed.

It is with the kindness and generosity of the people of Cork that we have been able to do this work of Hope. Thank you from all of us at HftH.🙏 May you have loving, peaceful Christmas and a hope filled and prosperous new year.

I want to show you one of the best pictures we can share with you from the other night we were on the streets. This from one of our service users with permission. He has been using our services for about three years. (Yes three years sleeping on the streets of Cork). We have fed him, gave him change of clothing, tents and sleeping bags. He said I want to show you something and was overjoyed and beeming. He skiped over to me without saying a word he simply started to wave his new key in front of me. He had secured a small little place for where he begin to build his life. This is the best christmas present and it was a joy to see him so happy and content. Hope was in his eyes.

Your support has helped us support those who have fallen through the cracks. Thank you Cork for your compassion thoughtout the year.

Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
From all of us at HftH

To all our dear volunteers and supporters. We have some good news which I believe will serve us well.

Over the past three weeks we have been in meetings with various representatives of Cork City Council. Some of you might have heard through the media of their desire to assist in street out-reaches such as Hope for the Homeless in providing facilities that both help the homeless and the city as a whole. We made clear on behalf of the homeless of Cork who particularly slip through the cracks of other services, our needs and some of our concerns in regards to any facilities provided.

On Tuesday 16th as they just finished setting it up, I was shown the facilities (Pictures below) and I do believe they will serve our purposes in bringing some Hope to the Homeless. What the City Council is providing hits many of the right spots. May the homeless and all stakeholders in our city be blessed in the New Year with these facilities.

So, from Friday the 9th of January we will utilise these facilities on Kyrls Quay, (the back of Supermac’s) not far from our HftH centre on Shandon Street. See more information on our FB page.

❤️Have a blessed Christmas and New Year❤️

Tom (HftH CEO)
