Folks we have our upcoming workshop on canning coming up on Saturday 17th October. This workshop will cover the essentials of chutneys and pickles . Workshop includes tasters and light lunch included. Book now to avoid disappointment 😞

Still pumping the tomatoes out! From 25 plants plants of mixed varieties this year we have been really happy with the amount of growth !!

We are hosting this PEACEPLUS Growing Together project with Póca Productions at OURganic Gardens, where older and younger people are invited to join in conversation and light practical workshops looking at old and new ways to grow food.

We are inviting story tellers to help paint a picture of how it used to be on the land and who have a story to share. If anyone is interested we would be delighted to have them along.

The main themes will be week by week : Soil & Seaweed, The Heritage of Seed Saving & Community Sharing, Tools of the Trade - From Horse-Drawn Ploughs to Modern Technology, Winter Harvest & Preserving Food. Refreshments and Cake will be provided :)

Workshops take place mid week and start Thursday 8th October 11am - 1.30pm running every 2 weeks for 4 sessions - If interested please PM us here or get in touch with Anne at DLDC

Folks we have the first of our two workshops on preserving food taking place this Saturday and then in two weeks time. Please help us share this to anyone who might be interested as we will have to cancel if we dont hit the numbers and it would be such a shame to have to cancel after all the work and planning Erin and ourselves has done for it.

In times such as this we really cant emphasise enough the need to learn to grow your own and build skills such as preserving nutritious food well into the winter months. Coming together with like minded people will also help us continue to build community which really cant beat the inperson workshop.

We completely forgot to take photos of when the participants arrived to a fantastic turn out for our intro to preservation workshop this morning and afternoon. Participants got to see how we make our jams , syrups , wines , balms and more at the session and the knowledge in the room was also shared but way of different methods and learning as we go attitude !!

Folks, we continue our monthly meditation sessions with Caroline Burrow from Sea,Stone and Sky for some beautiful meditation in our lovely space at OURganic Gardens. Join us on Saturday 26th September and do get in touch if you wish to be added to the WhatsApp group.

There is no need to book for these sessions and we are looking forward to seeing you there.
You may wish to bring along with you a meditation cushion or yoga mat, and a blanket.

*Autumn Gardening Course for Women starting this September*

Want to become a budding gardener and learn how to grow your own food all year round?

Women's Collective Ireland-Donegal are delighted to be offering a 4-week blended autumn gardening course for women, with 3 online workshop sessions starting on Thursday 24th September, 7–9pm, and a day practical workshop up at OURganic Gardens in Gortahork on Sunday 11th October from 10.30am–4.30pm. The course will be facilitated by experienced community gardener Joanne Butler of OURganic Gardens. Over the course you will cover topics such as, Garden Preparation, Winter Composting and Seed Saving Basics, Planning for next year's garden, Green Manures & Brassica Care and Climate Change & the Future of Gardening.
