🪻 Fantastic work done today by some of the volunteers from Crosshaven Tidy Towns, Barbara & members of the CE scheme team. The transformation of the point area is brilliant to see.
🪻
As many of you know, Clara one of the volunteers, maintained this area for years, but unfortunately she is no longer able to keep it up.
🪻
Fair play to everyone who stepped in and took on the challenge today to bring the space back to life. Hopefully, we can now look at getting a new bench for the area as well.
🪻
We’d also encourage any residents living nearby to get involved where possible. There are only so many volunteers in Crosshaven Tidy Towns, and every little bit helps, whether it’s weeding, cutting grass, or helping to keep an area tidy.
🪻
We all want to see Crosshaven looking its very best, and community spirit like this makes a huge difference. Well done again to everyone involved 👏

Special thank you to Aidan, who mows the point grass area for us 🌻

What a beautiful place we’re lucky to call home ❣️

We love seeing people out enjoying our village, walks, and beaches, they’re here for everyone to enjoy.
🚶‍♀️ 🐕‍🦺 ♻️
We kindly ask that you please take your litter with you or use the bins provided, and always pick up after your dog and bin it 🐾
We are seeing along our beach areas and walks, poo bags flung into hedges ❌️

Our volunteers work hard alongside our CE scheme and council staff to keep the area clean and welcoming for all.
Let’s all do our bit to keep Crosshaven looking its best ✨

Great news for our community! 🙌

CDC and Tidy Towns are delighted to share that we’ve secured €7,000 towards completing the green fencing at the MUGA.
This has been an issue, especially with balls going out during games, so we’re really hoping to get this finished this year.
As many of you know, fencing costs are extremely high, but thanks to your incredible support through our calendar sales, and with additional help from Cork County Council Amenity Grants,we’re getting there. 🤸‍♀️🤾

We’re also thrilled to have received funding from Cork County Council for a railing to improve access at the end of the path leading down to Graball Beach from Camden.

Thanks to Chris O’Callaghan for his support on this, hopefully we’ll see this completed over the next couple of months.

Next on the list is finishing off the hopscotch area. We’re currently looking to connect with someone who can create a mural, and we’re awaiting confirmation on designs for the new concrete space.
🤾‍♀️
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who continues to look after this fantastic amenity. We’re aware of some issues with broken glass and antisocial behaviour, but it remains a valuable space for our young people. With continued community support, we can keep it safe and enjoyable for all. 👏
Thanks again to everyone involved, great progress being made! 💫

☘️ It’s beginning to look a lot like St. Patrick’s Day in the village! ☘️

A big thank you to our fantastic Tidy Towns volunteers who have been working very hard around the area. The village is looking fantastic and it’s a great showcase for Crosshaven.

A message from our friends @ Crosshaven Festivals -

🇮🇪 St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Tuesday 17th

The parade will assemble at The Point before 10:45am, and will then follow the same route through the village, same as last year.

🚧 Traffic Notice
Road closures will be in place from the morning, so please follow the signage and directions from stewards. Your patience is appreciated so everyone can enjoy the day safely.

🥁 We’re delighted that the renowned Carrigaline Pipe Band will lead the parade this year.

🎉 Don’t forget there will be prizes for:
• Best Dressed Float
• Best Hat
• Best Dressed Pet
If you would like to support the event, the Crosshaven Tourist Office is still accepting donations or prize baskets, which are always greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to a great community day. See you all there! ☘️🇮🇪

Another great showing of our 2025 Christmas lights ✨

It was lovely to see and meet people from far and wide coming down to enjoy our beautiful lights. It really gives us a sense of pride living in such a special area, with such a strong community spirit here in Crosshaven.
🎄
A huge thank you to everyone who came out this morning to help. Community is so important, and when we all do our bit, we keep moving onwards and upwards, bringing people with us and getting everyone involved.

As we put the lights away until next November (most are already down, with the rest coming down during the week), I want to say a special thanks to Eddie Buckley and Cork Scaffolding for the truck. It makes such a difference in safely storing all the boxes, the snowman, and everything else. We really appreciate it.

Thank you all once again a great community effort 💚
