Beautiful sunshine in Glandore today for the first Celtic Ross Hotel South West Rowing Championship Regatta of the season. We had a large contingent rowing so well done to everyone who took part.
Our podium finishes were:

4 Silver; U14 men, U16 women, novice men, masters women.

3 Bronze; senior women, masters men, novice women.

Entries are now live on Tracker for the Courtmacsherry Beach Sprints Regatta taking place on June 13th in Blindstrand, Courtmacsherry!

This is the first of two new Rowing Ireland Beach Sprint League events, and we are encouraging everyone to take part, whether you are new to beach sprints or have raced before.

This year, we are trialling a new Round Robin and Points Progression format designed to create more competitive racing and more time on the water.

✅ Minimum of 3 races for every athlete
✅ More varied matchups across the day
✅ Points-based progression system
✅ Top 4 progress to the Grand Final

Athletes will race a wide variety of opponents across the rounds before the final, making for exciting racing from start to finish.

The Rowing Ireland Irish Coastal Rowing Championships will return to the coast on 15–16 August 2026 for the first time since Schull 2022.

Hosted by Ballycotton Rowing Club at the spectacular Loughbeg Strand, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, the 2026 Championships promise an unforgettable weekend of racing and atmosphere at one of Ireland’s premier coastal rowing venues.

The event will feature championship racing from U12 through to Masters (55+), alongside exciting new race categories set to be announced in the coming weeks.

With the return of several clubs and growing participation nationwide, this is shaping up to be the biggest and most competitive Coastal Championships yet.

Live drone coverage and large spectator screens will ensure every race can be followed throughout the weekend.

First Celtic Ross Hotel South West Rowing Regatta of the season has been rescheduled for Glandore next Sunday 24th, starting at 9am. Forecast is good for weekend so hopefully it will go ahead as planned. We are very much looking forward to it and will possibly have our club’s highest ever number of rowers travelling.

It's time to start thinking about Beach Sprints. The Courtmachserry Rowing Club Beach Sprints regatta will take place on Saturday 13th June. The event is now live on Tracker.
