The Blankets of Hope Cork The Blankets of Hope Cork at Iris House Cork Cancer Support January 2nd 2014
The Blankets of Hope Cork was born. Nurses distribite them to patients.

The Blankets of Hope was an idea our founder Ann Dowley Spillane saw in the States and when she was going through Cancer herself. Ann found that some-days it was very cold in the Chemotherapy ward and there was a need for Comfort Blanket. Ann started by asking the volunteers in the Centre and family to make and knit squares or blankets and today we have donated over 25,000 blankets right across the country . ALL OUR BLANKETS ARE FREE OF CHARGE
๏ปฟThe Blankets of Hope are taken to the all Oncology Wards in Cork. We also distribute them from our Centre in 26 Pauls Street, or by post


We depend on donations of wool , we never sell or raffle any of the Blankets that are donated to the Centre, these are property Cork Cancer Care Centre and will be distributed to all the Oncology Hospitals , Hospices, and by request we post to peoples homes right across the country , all we ask is that the price of the postage be covered . Another lovely delivery from Blankets of Hope Cork to the Infusion Unit at the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital. ๐Ÿ’œ

It's always such a pleasure to see the wonderful Janice, who kindly receives our blanket deliveries on behalf of the Infusion Unit. Thank you, Janice, for your warm welcome and for helping us ensure these beautiful blankets reach the patients who need them most. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Each blanket is lovingly handmade by our incredible knitters and crocheters, who generously give their time and talents to bring a little warmth, comfort and hope to someone going through cancer treatment.

To all our amazing Blankets of Hope volunteers, thank you for every stitch, every hour and every beautiful blanket you create. Your kindness makes such a difference. ๐Ÿ’œ

We hope these blankets bring a little comfort and remind each person receiving one that they are not alone and that someone is thinking of them. ๐ŸŒธ
