The Blankets of Hope was an idea our founder Ann Dowley Spillane saw in the States and when she was going through Cancer herself. Ann found that some-days it was very cold in the Chemotherapy ward and there was a need for Comfort Blanket. Ann started by asking the volunteers in the Centre and family to make and knit squares or blankets and today we have donated over 25,000 blankets right acros
s the country . ALL OUR BLANKETS ARE FREE OF CHARGE
The Blankets of Hope are taken to the all Oncology Wards in Cork. We also distribute them from our Centre in 26 Pauls Street, or by post
We depend on donations of wool , we never sell or raffle any of the Blankets that are donated to the Centre, these are property Cork Cancer Care Centre and will be distributed to all the Oncology Hospitals , Hospices, and by request we post to peoples homes right across the country , all we ask is that the price of the postage be covered .
