The Housing Agency, in partnership with the Irish Traveller Movement, is offering two paid Administration Internship opportunities specifically for members of the Traveller community.

This is a brilliant new service for young Travellers across the country. Traveller children can now access counselling support and trust that their counsellor/therapist is culturally aware and sensitive and trained in Traveller culture and anti-racist practice.

FREE screening of the acclaimed documentary by Pat Collins "Songlines" Triskel Arts Centre Cinema, TODAY Tuesday 26th May 1pm. Free. All Welcome.

This documentary follows the great Traveller singer Thomas McCarthy on his work for the Irish Traditional Music Archive travelling around Ireland meeting Traveller singers and those connected with the great Traveller songs. These talented and charismatic performers are carriers of tradition and include Rosie McCarthy, Kitty Cassidy, Ellen McDonagh, Ned McCarthy, Stephen McDonagh, Ellie Stokes, Trish and Martin O’Reilly and Kathleen and Mary Keenan. What results is an absorbing documentary on tradition, song and the importance of singing while paying tribute to the immense contribution that Travellers have made to the art of traditional singing in Ireland.
