Dear CWS Members,

Its hard to believe that the June tasting is almost among us.... purely because the weather feels like we could be in February or March! Well forget about that, we've got an absolutely savage evening sorted for June.

Not wanting to be outdone by the May tasting (hosted by CWS President Liam Murray and CWS Committee member Dean Fitzgerald), CWS Chairman Laurie O'Dwyer has channelled his inner Tony Montana with a flight that essentially says "Say hello... to my Little Friends!!" All whiskies on the flight were released in 2025.

Founded by Michael Cowman (ex member and wannabe Cork man) and Ronan Collins (not the singer), Redacted has entered the Independent Bottling scene with a strong sense of fun and a philosophy that encourages drinkers to set aside assumptions and taste with an open mind.

Michael Cowman himself will join us on the night to bring us on a full run through of what they have bottled and excitingly has agreed to provide an opportunity for people attending to purchase their soon to be released Redacted Naggin.

We hope you enjoyed the long weekend! Our February tasting has been locked in and we will be travelling across the Atlantic to the good old US of A to sample some whiskey offerings from our American friends.

The event will be hosted by our very own Conor Ryan and guest speaker Tony Ryan (member). Conor and Tony have extensive knowledge of American whiskey history and distilleries. It is an evening not to be missed.

We will also have American themed food on the night after the tasting.

We are kicking off 2026 with our annual salute to Scotch. Dan Pennington has curated an interesting flight of some of the very best that our neighbours in Scotland have to offer. It is an an eclectic mix old, new and hard to find bottles so what better way to toast our kilted cousins than joining us for our "Loch, Scotch and Two Smokey Barrels" tasting.

Dear Members,

We’re thrilled to invite you to the Cork Whiskey Society Annual Christmas Tasting, hosted by the renowned Midleton Distillery. This year’s event will feature exclusive cask samples straight from Midleton's warehouses, presented by Barrett Stapleton, head distiller at the Micro Distillery in Midleton.

Barrett brings a wealth of experience in crafting small-batch, innovative whiskeys and overseeing experimental projects at Midleton’s Micro Distillery. His passion for pushing boundaries in whiskey-making ensures this tasting will be fun, relaxed and educational.
