On Friday, June 5th, Shine A Light Su***de & Mental Health Awareness was proud to spend the day at Blackpool Shopping Centre, engaging with members of the community and raising awareness around su***de and mental health.

Throughout the day, our volunteers met with individuals, families, local organisations and businesses, providing information about the supports available and the work we do across Cork. We were delighted by the positive response from the public and grateful to everyone who took the time to visit our stand.

We were also encouraged by the fantastic support shown for our nomination in the AIB Community Fund. The response from the community has been incredible, and we would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to nominate Shine A Light.

💜 SHINE A LIGHT AT BLACKPOOL 💜

Shine A Light Su***de & Mental Health Awareness will be at Blackpool Shopping Centre from 10am to 6pm today Friday 5th June.

You're welcome to stop by for a chat with our volunteers. Whether you’re looking for information on low cost counselling services, support around mental health, or simply want to learn more about the work we do! We look forward to meeting you on the day!

We would also love to invite local businesses to come and take a photo with us to show support for su***de and mental health awareness in our community 💜

Tonight was all about Lauren 💜

A room filled with love, friendship, support and hope as we celebrated the launch of Lauren's book, A Quick Goodbye.

We are so incredibly proud of our Vice Chairperson, Lauren Golden. Her kindness, compassion and beautiful energy are at the heart of everything she does, and seeing so many people come together to support her tonight was truly special.

Su***de Awareness & Prevention, and the promotion of Positive Mental Health CLG

Cork City Partnership in collaboration with HSE South West have organised a 'free' A.S.I.S.T. Training. Date: Wednesday 6th & Thursday 7th May 2026. Training starts at 08.45 a.m. on both days.

The A.S.I.S.T programme is a 2-day intensive, interactive, and practice-dominated workshop designed to help Participants/Caregivers recognise the immediate risk of su***de and learn how to intervene to prevent the tragic consequences of su***de.

Location: Cork City Partnership Community House, 46A Sprigg’s Rd, Gurranabraher, Cork, T23 FK2V

TRAINERS: NATIONAL SU***DE PREVENTION OFFICE HSE
Age range: Strictly over 18 years, ASIST is not recommended for those recently bereaved especially by su***de in the past 12 months.
