⚠️ Public Safety Notice – Tucson Circulating Pump Recall
The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors Ireland (APHCI) is issuing an urgent safety advisory following today’s announcement from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) regarding a serious electrical safety risk linked to over 114,000 Tucson circulating pumps installed in Irish homes and businesses.
The affected pumps — Tucson 5m, 6m, and 8m models manufactured between 2017 and 2024 — may have an electrical fault that could lead to a risk of electrocution if the mains cable has been connected in reverse.
Public safety is the Association’s highest concern. We strongly echo the CCPC’s advice:
• Do not touch, disconnect, adjust, or attempt to service any Tucson pump yourself.
• Heating systems may continue to operate as normal, but no one should handle or open the affected unit.
• Check the pump visually — without touching it — for the Tucson brand name and serial number.
• Serial numbers beginning with S/N A, S/N B, S/N C, S/N D44 or earlier, or S/N 2017–2020 must be replaced.
The manufacturer, Tucson Pumps, has launched a nationwide free replacement programme. Consumers can arrange a replacement through an approved Tucson technician or service agent.
