Huge thanks to the wonderful Oscar for his fantastic musical interpretation workshop! We're very lucky in Cork to have passionate, talented people in the scene, and I'm doubly lucky to be able to call on their support in putting these gigs together.

Deep gratitude as always to my beloved first home Crane Lane, and all who sail in her, for hosting us!

We had another full house yesterday, and the dance floor was packed till the end. I am, as always, hugely appreciative of the great turnout these events get - there's hardly 10 minutes on the calendar without some dance event these days, and I'm honoured to have your continued support!

Huge thanks to the phenomenal Marco & Daniela of Latin Dance Studio Cork for the wonderful salsa workshop! They're teaching now in their new studio in Douglas, and also running the monthly sell out gigs in the Dean!

Thanks everyone for coming, we'd a full dance floor all night. The dance calendar is fuller than ever, and I hugely appreciate the continued support these gigs get. Huge thanks as always to my beloved home Crane Lane for hosting us!

A chairde, yesterday we kicked off the year's events by raising a fantastic €1056 for the Eating Disorder Centre Cork - money which will be used directly to provide therapy hours to people who need them. Huge thanks to the amazing Donna for doing the beginners Salsa class, and welcome to the new dancers who joined us yesterday. Thanks to everyone for coming, and keeping the dancefloor full until the final whistle. The dance calendar in Cork is very full these days, and I'm hugely grateful for the continued support these gigs receive. Finally, my undying gratitude to my home away from home, Crane Lane, who make it all possible!

A chairde, yesterday we raised a magnificent €1251 for Cork SImon, a really phenomenal end to the year's events. The money will help them in their work supporting people experiencing homelessness in and around Cork. Their work is more important than ever in the context of the ongoing housing crisis - for more information on their work, or to donate, please see https://www.corksimon.ie

Huge thanks to Alison for her wonderful workshop, it's a real honour to have her share her amazing passion and energy with us. One of the many things I love about these events is the opportunity to experience dances that we don't normally get in the SBK trio, and this year we had salsa callejera, salsa choke, latin hustle, forró, and Dominican bachata in addition to the regular salsa and bachata.

It was a really beautiful night, the room was warm and lively, and I saw friends I haven't seen in ages. The dance floor was full right up to the last beat of the last song, and the atmosphere was as warm and welcoming as ye always make it. Yesterday pushed us to a record breaking total for the year, we raised an incredible €16754.16 across 14 events, and every cent has gone to support people who need it. In addition to that, I've a car full of toys for the children in direct provision, your generosity is overwhelming. That's it from me for the year, one final heartfelt thanks to our hosts Crane Lane, to the people who have helped run the events in various ways, and to everyone for coming and making it such a success

It's just over 7 years since the first Sunday social, on 25th November 2018. In that time, we've had 75 fundraisers, raising over €50k for charity (€51832.91 to be precise). The project has exceeded my wildest expectations, I thought it might be a handful of friends practicing salsa for a couple of hours on a Sunday, but from the start it was a very successful social, and has grown to be a real part of the fabric of Cork's thriving latin dance scene.

I'm deeply grateful to everyone who has made this such a success, and I'm very proud to say that every cent taken on the door has gone directly to charity. It can be disheartening to look around and see the suffering in the world, but with this money we have helped vulnerable people, and that's something to be very happy about

None of this would be possible without the generous support of Kate and all the team in Crane Lane, who have kindly hosted us. As any organiser will tell you, it's challenging to find a space to host events, and I'm very lucky to have Cork's best venue on my side.

I've also been able to call on wonderful talent for support in putting these gigs together, starting with the wonderful Eli & Petra, who looked after the music for the early socials. Angelica and Ilario of Infinity who came from Dublin to teach the first pre-social workshops for us. The magnificent Son Solar, who rubbed shoulders in their original configuration on the floor of the social. All of the Cork dance schools, who joined me in putting together Cork Latin for Palestine - Marco and Daniela of Latin Dance Studio, Niamh, Alita, and Kathleen of Cork Dance Scene, Samantha from the Tribe, and Eduardo and Aga of UCC Dance Society. And also a host of independent teachers who have kindly shared their time and their talent with us in different workshops: Aina, Josue, Rocío, Adriana, Vanessa, Bruna, Mauricio, Oscar, Sara, Donna, Alison, Paul, Noelia, Emmet, Sue, Rob, and Jara

As well as that, I get huge support on the door from Ciara, Andrea, and the rest of my army of amateur bouncers. Music suggestions, helpful feedback and suggestions, it's all appreciated.

It's been a tremendous privilege to run these events, it's something I enjoy immensely, and I've made friends from all over the world through them. Go raibh míle maith agaibh, mó ghrá sibh go léir

Folks, yesterday we raised an incredible €1455.55 for Médecins Sans Frontières - money which will help them in their work providing life-saving care to people whose lives are threatened by conflict, natural disasters, epidemics, and famine. For more information on their work, or to donate, please see https://www.msf.ie/

Huge thanks to the incredible Jara for joining me for the salsa class and ensuring it was quality checked, and welcome to all the new dancers - a lot of new faces yesterday.

Deep thanks, as always, to my second home Crane Lane, Cork for hosting us! Thank you all for coming, it was another full weekend of events, and I know by the time Sunday rolls around energy and wallets are light, I always really appreciate the support these events get. Our total yesterday was boosted by an incredibly generous anonymous donation - one of the really great things about these events is it shows me again and again how good people are. Finally, thanks to my army of charming bouncers for the help on the door! Next gig is December 9th, and incredibly that's the end of the year already. Tempus fugit!

Huge thanks to Emmet & Sara for kicking us off with their wonderful bachata workshop. My undying gratitude, as always, to my second home Crane Lane for hosting us. Huge thanks to all of ye for coming out and filling the floor, it was a miserable evening at the end of a long week of dancing, and I hugely appreciate the support as always. There's a real beauty to the winter socials, beacons of warmth and light against the dark, cold, rain outside - particularly the moments when the whole room is singing along to a song. Next gig in 2 weeks, more info to follow, xoxox

Folks, yesterday we raised a spectacular €1198.70 for UNRWA, money which they will use to save and improve Palestinian lives. While the event was on, Israel once again breached the ceasefire, so it's important that we don't turn our eyes away from the ongoing suffering of the people of Palestine.

Huge thanks to the amazing Aina and Rob for their wonderful bachata class! I'm very lucky to be able to call on wonderful talent in putting these events together, and yesterday was another great example of that. Thanks as always to my beloved second home, Crane Lane, Cork, for hosting us and to the gang there for looking after us - without their support, these events would not happen! And finally thank you all for coming, dancing, and donating so generously, we'd a full house, a beacon of warmth in the storm outside. Apologies to anyone I abandoned mid-dance to attend the door! Next gig is November 2nd, see ye then or sooner

A chairde, yesterday we raised a phenomenal €1295 for the Irish Refugee Council, money which will help them in their work supporting people seeking protection in Ireland. The point I was failing to articulate yesterday is that we are living through a time of rising hatred, increasingly targeted towards refugees and other immigrants. We can see from the UK and the US where this road leads, and if we want to keep the wonderful, warm, welcoming environment that we have in the Cork Latin dance scene, and Cork more generally, we need to be vocal in opposing those spreading the hatred.

Huge thanks to our phenomenal teachers, Rocío and Sara, for coming to share their passion and talent for Dominican Bachata with us. I saw plenty of people putting the steps to use during the night, so the lesson went down well! Massive thanks to Crane Lane, Cork as always for hosting us, and the gang there for looking after me - particularly Cian for fixing the buzzing on the speakers that was driving me slowly insane. Thanks to my small army of bouncers for help on the door and constructive advice, and thanks to everyone for coming, donating, and keeping the dancefloor full until the final whistle.

It was a really wonderful evening, from the energy of the class, to meeting friends I haven't seen in ages, and a beautiful moment when the whole room was singing Yo No Sé Mañana in harmony. It's a fantastic privilege to run these gigs, thank you all for making it possible!
