VOLUNTARY CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE FOR ALL THOSE TOUCHED BY CANCER, THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS. Welcome to Iris House Cork Cancer Support! How we can Help YOU!

Iris House Cork Cancer Support is a voluntary cancer support group for All who have or have had cancer , their carer's, families and friends. Founded in 2011, the Centre originally met every fortnight in the Ambassador Hotel (Cork City). We are now in a premises at 26 St. Paul's Avenue, Cork City where all meetings, workshops and other Centre activities are now held. The new premises officially opened on 7th February 2012, the one-year anniversary of the first meeting. New members are always welcome. If you have been directly affected by cancer or know someone who has, be it a family member, relative, partner or friend we would be delighted to meet you at the Centre. To join, it's just a matter of getting in touch (see "Contact & Location" page on this website for more details).To find out about our upcoming meetings, events and fundraisers also click on the relevant link. Please note that we are currently updating our website and will be adding much more information about what we do and how we can help you as the weeks progress. We would ask you to be patient while this is going on and in the meantime feel free to re-visit our site regularly for updates. 💜🌸 A HUGE THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US AT IRIS HOUSE! 🌸💜

Last Thursday, we held our Annual Flag Day across Cork City, and we would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the day such a success! 💜

Firstly, to all of our amazing Warriors and volunteers who generously gave up their time to come out and support Iris House, we are so incredibly grateful. Your kindness, dedication and continued support mean the world to us. We simply couldn't do days like this without you! 🥰💜

A very special thank you to the wonderful 4th Year students from Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh, who kindly gave up their time to volunteer with us on the day. It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm and generosity from these young people, and we really appreciate their support! 👏💜

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Willis Insurance Company for supporting Iris House and allowing members of their staff to volunteer with us on the day. Your generosity and community spirit are truly appreciated! 💜

And of course, thank you to everyone across Cork who stopped to say hello, made a donation or offered a few kind words of encouragement. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps us continue providing free support and services to individuals and families affected by cancer.

We are so lucky to have such an incredible community of people standing alongside us. Days like Thursday remind us just how much kindness and generosity there is here in Cork. 💜

💜 A Lovely Morning with the UCC Carers Network! 💜

A huge thank you to the UCC Carers Network for inviting our CEO, Linda Goggin James, and Jessica Mulcahy to join them for their coffee morning last week! ☕💜

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the work we do here at Iris House Cork Cancer Support and to raise awareness of the free services available to individuals and families affected by cancer.

Linda spoke about the many ways Iris House supports people throughout their cancer journey, from counselling and holistic therapies to our Wig Bank, Blankets of Hope and wellbeing programmes.

We are so grateful for the warm welcome, the lovely conversations and the genuine interest shown in our work.

A special thank you also to our Director Ralph O'Flaherty for his involvement in organising and contributing to such a meaningful morning.

Thank you again to everyone at the UCC Carers Network for giving us the opportunity to spread awareness of Iris House and the support available in our community. 💜

Together, we can make sure that nobody has to face cancer alone. 🌸

🌟 Yesterday, Blankets of Hope Cork was delighted to deliver a selection of blankets to Mairead Lyons, End of Life Care Co-Ordinator at CUH. A heartfelt thank you to Mairead for kindly accepting our delivery. 💜

🌟 We are so happy to be able to provide a little comfort and warmth to those who need it most. We will continue to supply blankets to End of Life Care, as well as the oncology units throughout Cork.
