Welcome everyone to the Official page of the University College Cork Economics Society. Founded in 2008, UCC Economics Society has organised various events for the student population of University College Cork with an interest in all thing economics and financial including the very successful UCC EconoCon which is an annual highlight of Economics Week on campus. As well as inviting guest speakers from Ireland and abroad to speak on campus, we also organise everything form film screenings to dodgeball tournaments and economics themed socials. 🏛️ A Day at Leinster House

A fantastic opportunity for our members to step outside the classroom and engage directly with Ireland’s political and economic decision-makers.

Our delegation took part in a Q&A with Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris TD, Maeve O’Connell TD and other members of Government, discussing Budget 2027, the proposed Savings & Investment Account, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and the future of Ireland’s economy.

For us as students, the opportunity to ask questions, share our perspectives and engage in these discussions first-hand was an incredibly valuable experience.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with us and make the visit possible. 🇮🇪
