Last Friday, at the Irish Deaf Society (IDS) Roadshow at Cork Deaf Club, IDS Advocacy Development Officer Damien Owens explained about the WhatsApp Channel.

There was a very good turnout for the Irish Deaf Society (IDS) Roadshow at Cork Deaf Club yesterday evening, marking the 9th stop of its tour around Ireland.

Cork Deaf Club Chairperson Eric Johnson welcomed Damien Owens, IDS Advocacy Development Officer, who provided valuable information about the work of the Irish Deaf Society, advocacy services and issues affecting the Deaf Community.

It was also great to see six Deaf people attending an IDS Roadshow for the first time!

It was an informative and interesting evening, providing a great opportunity for members to learn more, ask questions and share their views and concerns.

Many thanks to Damien Owens and the Irish Deaf Society for visiting Cork Deaf Club and sharing this important information.

The Cork Deaf Club Constitution Review Committee held a meeting at the Metropole Hotel, Cork, on Thursday evening, 15th October 2026.

The committee met to continue reviewing and updating the Cork Deaf Club Constitution.

An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) is expected to take place on Tuesday, 17th November 2026, to allow members to discuss and vote on the proposed amendments to the Constitution.

Further details will be announced in due course.
