The 2026 Tools of the Trade Exhibition was officially launched this morning by Lord Mayor Cllr Fergal Dennehy. It is available to view now until 11th June 10am-4pm on weekdays at Cork City Council Atrium.

Tools of the Trade is an interdisciplinary art project designed and coordinated annually by artists Leah Murphy and Susan Walsh with the support of Cork Arts. The artists bring students behind the scenes of S.T.E.A.M. industry businesses to learn about equipment, processes and practices involved in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. The students respond creatively by co-producing original artworks that are later installed permanently in their schools.

This year, the Tools of the Trade exhibition features work by 4th Class pupils from South Lee Educate Together National School and Scoil Maria Assumpta in collaboration with the following project partners:
- School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Sciences, UCC
- 'Living Shorelines' The Living Seawall at Kennedy Pier, Cobh harbour
- Ginger Fire Nadine Lawton Jeweller

Everyone is welcome to come and get hands on in Tools of the Trade workshops at the in Fitzgerald Park tomorrow 6th June as part of by CreativeIrl 'Design a space for nature, create a place for plankton to play, and imagine what it means to be part of a thriving multi-species community.'

For more information and to inquire about your school getting involved, go to www.toolsofthetrade.ie
