🌊 Festival of the Sea 2025 – Volunteers & Community 🌊
As we draw the summer to a close and reflect on another unforgettable Castletownbere Festival of the Sea, we are filled with pride and gratitude. None of it would be possible without the extraordinary volunteers and community spirit that shines through year after year.
Organising a week-long festival takes months of planning, huge dedication, and endless behind-the-scenes work. Yet once again, Castletownbere rose to the occasion. Thanks to the hard work of both past and present committee members, and the many people who stepped forward with their time, energy, and enthusiasm, the festival was a resounding success.
💙 From those who planned and ran events, to those who supported on the ground… from local clubs and organisations, to individuals who simply rolled up their sleeves… it really does take a village..
One of the most powerful reminders of what community means came this summer with the incredible response to the Stand 4 Feile campaign. Almost €600,000 has already been raised to support Féile and her family. The way Beara – and far beyond – have come together is nothing short of inspiring. It is a true reflection of the strength, generosity, and kindness of our community, and something we can all be deeply proud of.
🙏 To every single volunteer, helper, supporter, and organisation – please know that your contribution, no matter how big or small, mattered. The Castletownbere Festival of the Sea is by the community, for the community, and it is your spirit that makes it so special.
