🌈 Owenacurra Day Hospital were the proud recipients of our certified HSE LGBTI+ Allies in the Workplace training recently! Killian delivered two sessions to the staff there, arming them with all the knowledge to be excellent allies to their patients and collleagues! A fun and enthusiastic bunch we're sure they'll put their training to good use!

β€œHSE Allies in the Workplace” is an interactive, dynamic LGBTI+ allyship training and certification programme designed to equip HSE healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to champion LGBTI+ inclusion. Our training is tailored to create confident, informed, and proactive allies who can provide inclusive care and environments for LGBTI+ individuals accessing healthcare and for their LGBTI+ coworkers.

If your workplace would benefit from allyship training, please feel free to visit www.gayproject.ie/training or email [email protected] to arrange!

A busy training season recently, with Killian paying a visit to the team at Fermoy Community Health Network to deliver Rainbow Ready training. A wonderful session full of engaged trainees who received Rainbow Ready - a certified inclusivity training programme designed for community organisations, non-profits, and educational institutions. This training equips staff, educators, and leaders to create and maintain inclusive, respectful, and safe spaces for LGBTI+ individuals. Thank you to them for hosting us! Visit www.gayproject.ie/training for more details on our training programmes and how to bring the training to your workplace next! 🌈

🌈 The LGBTQI+ Parents group returns this Wednesday, from 18:15 in Nudes Bar, Lavitt's Quay! Check out the information below for more details!

LGBTQI++++ parents’ meeting

This group is a space for LGBTQI+++ parents (including foster parents) themselves to spend time together, discuss, and support each other with the challenges facing us.

Whether you are a parent by adoption, by birth, by surrogacy, whether you foster, or by any other means, you are welcome to spend time with us.

This is a space where we can commiserate in an all-adult environment. Based on the model developed by New Family Social in the UK of regional parental meet-ups, our challenges for and with our kids, as well as our joys at being parents, can be shared here. We are still few in number but face a surprising number of similar challenges, and so do our kids.

πŸ—“ Last Wednesday of every month - Next Date: Weds 27th May
πŸ•“18:15-20:00 (in case some have to be home for toddlers!)
πŸ“Nude’s Bar, Lavitt's Quay, Cork City

The model is low pressure, drop in and drop out, and if you are parenting in a couple, we know that often only one of you will be able to come: arrive when you can, depart when you need to. It is a parent-only space, but we are open to developing kid-inclusive meets if that works in the future! Right now our kids are of very different ages so all-family meet-ups aren’t always practical.

[Image Description: Set against a dark blue backdrop, this poster features a large rainbow coloured heart. The details of the meeting are listed in a bright green colour, with a further rainbow shadow detail at the bottom. Contact details for the organiser and a specification that this event is adult-only is also included]
