The leader upskilling continues. Steve, Ari & Darragh spent the weekend on a fabulous Mountaineering training course. We look forward to them passing on their new skills to our youth members.

Due to the extreme hot and dry weather, we ask everybody NOT TO LIGHT ANY FIRE in or around Glenbower Woods.
Even cigarette butts can start a wild fire, please only smoke in your car and take your rubbish home.
No open fires, no barbeques, no fireworks.

LET'S PROTECT OUR BEAUTIFUL WOODS!

Thank you!

⛰️🏕️ Venture Weekend 🏕️⛰️
What a weekend for our Venture Scouts!
Seven Ventures, accompanied by leaders Darragh and Cian, took on the challenge of climbing Sugarloaf before reaching the summit of Knockmealdown on Saturday. The group spent two nights camping in the saddle between the two peaks, carrying everything they needed for the weekend.
The Ventures cooked all of their own meals from scratch using portable camping gas stoves and put their communication skills to the test through signalling and walkie-talkie challenges.
From hiking and camping to teamwork, problem-solving and plenty of laughs along the way, the group showed great determination and independence throughout the expedition.
A huge well done to all involved on a brilliant weekend of adventure! 👏

🌿 Tick Awareness Reminder 🌿

As we enjoy the outdoors, remember to check for ticks after activities in grassy, wooded, or rural areas. A quick tick check can help identify and remove ticks promptly. Parents and guardians may wish to assist younger Scouts where needed.

Take a moment to review these resources on tick awareness, prevention and safe tick removal:

Our Cubs Take to the Airwaves! 🎙️
We are incredibly proud of five amazing Cubs who are currently working towards their Chief Scout Award – Olivia P, Olivia S, Ellen, Jacob and Jared.
On Tuesday, 2nd June, they had the exciting opportunity to be interviewed live on by presenter and long-time supporter of Youghal Scouts, John Phillips. The Cubs had great fun introducing themselves, sharing some of their favourite songs, and telling listeners all about their Scouting journey and what they enjoy most about Cubs.
A huge thank you to John and everyone at CRY104FM for their continued support and for providing such a fantastic opportunity for our young people. Experiences like these help build confidence, communication skills, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
We were especially delighted to hear that Jacob enjoyed the experience so much that he’s now interested in starting his own podcast in the future!
You can listen back to the interview and view photos and videos from the day at the link in our bio or comments.
