Support SQUIRRELS at Tesco Community Fund – Youghal!
Our Scout group Squirrels has been chosen for this funding cycle at the Youghal Tesco branch.
Many of our members are neurodivergent, and we’re proud to offer a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where young people can learn and grow.
We’re raising funds for sensory boxes and calming aids to better support our Scouts.

As part of Founders Footsteps, our Cubs enjoyed a brilliant guided historical trail around Youghal with the wonderful Tommy Crowley from Youghal Chamber of Tourism and Development. They discovered the rich and fascinating history right on their doorstep — and gained a whole new appreciation for our fabulous town!
From there it was back to the Scout Hall for some hands-on Backwoods Skills.
The Cubs learned how to safely light and maintain a fire using different types of fire starters — an essential outdoor skill done with great care and teamwork.
Then came the best part… the food! 😋
On the menu:
Beef Stew
Veggie Kebabs
Bread on Sticks
Roasted bananas with marshmallows & chocolate
Safe to say there were some very happy (and well-fed!) Cubs by the end of the day!
Huge well done to all our amazing Cubs for their enthusiasm and teamwork 👏
And a massive thank you to our dedicated Leaders for the time, energy and care they give week in, week out — we couldn’t do it without you.

Youghal Scout Group are hoping to raise funds for section activities through the scheme. Every member is asked to bring at least one bottle or can to every meeting. If the general public would like to offer returns to our members we would greatly appreciate it. This can be done by passing returns to any member or throw them over the wall into the back yard. The youth members will gladly look after them for us.
