Our scouts are just back from their annual weekend in the Black Valley.

On Saturday, they conquered Brassel (575m) and a few of our most ambitious climbers even pushed on to reach the summit of Cnoc an Chuillinn (958m)! ⛰️

Saturday night was included the usual games of spoons, superstars and of course circumnavigating the table. 💪

Summer Camp 2025

Day 8 – Saturday
Our final day began with striking camp and packing the trailer. Before leaving Larch Hill, we held a short closing ceremony to present the Campcraft Award and Sports Award to the winning patrol.

A special congratulations to Cian (Blarney) and Daniel (Macroom) who received an award for their hard work, positive attitude and demonstrating scouting values throughout the week.

We also wished the scouts moving up to Ventures the very best on their next adventure.

A big thank you to Macroom Scout Group for joining us on camp — here’s to more joint camps in the future.

Over and out. ⚜️

Summer Camp 2025

Day 6 – Thursday

We took the Luas from Sandyford into Grafton Street. Patrols were given money for lunch and told to meet the leaders at the top of O’Connell Street two hours later. From there, we headed to Croke Park for the Skyline Tour — a bird’s-eye view over Dublin and a chance to explore the stadium.

After getting the Luas back to Sandyford we arrived back at the bus to find there had been some confusion re parking and the bus had been clamped! By the time the clamp was removed it was too late to cook so we had pizza for dinner.

This night it was the turn of the Swift patrol to hammock out under the stars for the night.

Day 7 - Friday

The day started with a trip to Aquazone at the National Aquatic Centre. Scouts enjoyed the slides, the wave pool, and plenty of time in the water.
In the evening, our SPLs wrapped up the week’s Taskmaster competition with a video montage of the challenges — including the memorable moment one scout counted every bean in a tin of baked beans.
