Great radio show yesterday! We talked to Micheal Burke about Signs of Spring, Aisling and had a great chat with one of the new Story Tellers in Residence. Paddy Marshall sang us a song and we heard from Dr Eleanor Mullen about her work towards lower impact manufacturing methods in industry. And we ate some very nice doughnuts as we wished members of our radio crew Daniel and D the best of luck as they set off on further adventures 😍

Upcycling workshop with Emily will continue today from 11am to 2pm in the community hall. All welcome! We are currently working on two pieces. See pictures below of the progress we made yesterday. If you have a piece you would like to upcycle you can bring it along also.

We've a busy month ahead on Sherkin with some exciting workshops taking place!
Today on the radio show we had Jordan and Neisha in to talk about Sewn-Up which is on Wednesday 22nd January, contact Jordan to book on 085 2072955.
We heard about the upcoming Brigids Day celebration organised by Ber Burns for 31st January/1st February.
Rachel Donnelly talked to us about her movement class, 'Start Standing' which will be on Wednesday 15th January at 11am.
Emily will be running a furniture Up-Cycling workshop on Friday 24 th and Saturday 25 th January.
Stephen Flaherty from the HSE is running a CPR course on Wednesday15th 5.30 to 9.30pm.

Yesterday's Christmas Special!

Thanks so much to all our guests for coming in. We had our newest presenter William O'Neill chatting to his Grandmother Maureen. We had live songs from Paddy Marshall and Andy Alpaca, and an update on the farm with Paddy and Andy. Things got competitive with the Christmas quiz, and questions from Norway with Quiz Master Jez Youell. To round it all off our Fiona managed to get a direct line through to Mrs Claus herself, and she spared us a few minutes from her busy schedule to chat with Jason.

Great to have our Jason back presenting today on Sherkin Sounds and the Surrounds!
In the studio we had Jordyn Lynch - talking about the Sherkin Christmas Craft Fair next weekend. Also Peter Prendagast from Creative Places telling us about arts funding and upcoming projects, more info on https://creativeplaceswci.ie/
We spoke to artist Paula Marten - who is currently running Lino Printing classes on Sherkin and Terry Farnell who is on the Masters Program : Art and The Environment, their degree show opens at the Uillin Arts Centre on 25th November.
