The Centre is most commonly known to Cork natives as ‘Rockies’ to this day and caters for a diverse range of students between the ages 12-21 years from various backgrounds a
nd/or cultures. All students that are referred to CCLSS are provided with equal educational opportunities as students in mainstream education. CCLSS promotes independence, personal autonomy, active citizenship, and a pattern of lifelong learning. The work of Cork City Learning Support Services is underpinned by a holistic approach towards the students in line with the ethos of the Centre. Attention is given to the student’s intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing while including cognitive aspects of learning. This approach provides support that views the student as a whole person. Certified programmes include Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate, while Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Level 4, QQI Level 3, and QQI Level 2 programmes consist of Major Awards and General Learning Modules.
