😊 Hi All. Collinstown Says Slow Down received the Council's plans for traffic calming for Collinstown. In our opinion they are impressive. There is extensive use of chicanes which will force traffic to slow down considerably. There is a "Toucan" crossing for the road outside St Mary's national School. This is a signal controlled crossing which is shared by both pedestrians and cyclists. There are "Raised Tables" at critical points through the village, such as outside the church and school. This is where the roadway is raised forcing traffic to slow down to mount it. We have modified the drawings to make them a bit more readable and they are attached to this post. We still have some questions but overall this appears to be a good plan and should go a long way to improving safety for all in Collinstown, and particularly for school going children. 😊
