Last day to enter - get yer songs in folks!

We decided to do this songwriting competition because we are absolutely astounded by the talent of all our customers, near and far. Professional and amateur, and we see it every single day. We wanted to create a situation where we could bring this to the public. We will film the final twenty in the shop if possible and we will live stream the final in the shop on Wednesday the 15th of July.
We have entries from 14yr olds to 74 yr olds. From Ireland, France, and America etc...
If you have a song that hasn't being recorded on an album, and it hasn't been aired on radio just enter it. You'd never know how far it could go. There are two independent judging panels and they are as excited about it as we are.
Don't wait - just do
And best of luck to everyone!!

Tune in to hear all about East Cork Songwriting Festival on Noreen Murphy’s radio show - C’mere t me - 7pm, Monday May 18th.

The festival was a beautiful event where songwriters of all levels and backgrounds came together, attended workshops by Cormac O’Caoimh, Nicole Maguire and Lynda Cullen. It’s amazing to think that people who had been total strangers until that day, wrote songs in small groups and performed them together the very same day.

You’ll get to hear some fab chats and interviews, as well as all 8 songs that were written and performed on the day by participants!

Airs 7pm May 18th on UCC 98.3fm! You can also listen live online.

This months songwriting theme is:

“The old and the new”

We had a lovely meeting today with some of our regular folks as well as some newer faces! A morning of creativity and craic! Our next meeting is June 13th, Cobh library 10am to 1pm. All are welcome!

This month’s theme was inspired by today’s lively discussion about the use of technology from rhyming dictionaries and thesaurus to AI.

Technical challenge:

When writing your song include a section that has no rhymes - or if you’re feeling like an extra challenge you can write your entire song without rhyming.

Happy songwriting folks!
