Attention landowners and farmers on the Fear English River near Johnstown Bridge.

Please be advised Inland Fisheries Ireland and their agents will be conducting water testing, invertebrates gravel sampling and fish sampling on the Fear English river today and over the coming weeks as part of a national programme to improving water quality and river restoration projects throughout Leinster. We would appreciate the co-operation of landowners and members of the public during the duration of our works. Thank you for your understanding.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred yesterday afternoon at approximately 2.30pm on the M4 Westbound at Junction 9 (Enfield).

The driver of one of the vehicles, a male in his 30’s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female, also in her 30’s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who may have been travelling on the M4 near Junction 9 (Enfield) between 2 pm and 3 pm yesterday and has camera or dashcam footage are asked to contact Trim Garda Station on 046-9426140 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

These new road safety requirements, introduced by Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien and Minister of State with responsibility for Road Safety Seán Canney, are designed to help reduce the number of serious injuries and fatalities associated with e-scooter use.
