We’re delighted to announce that our application to join the Irish Community Archive Network (iCAN) has been successful and Cloughjordan Parish Heritage Group has now officially joined the iCAN network in Tipperary!

iCAN provides vital support to heritage groups across Ireland in digitising, preserving and sharing our local heritage with a wider audience. This is achieved through the creation of an online community archive where our digitised articles, research, photos, genealogy resources and much, much more can be made accessible to the public.

A huge thanks to the iCAN team, Tipperary Heritage Office and the National Museum of Ireland for accepting our application and we very much look forward to working with you to create our very own Cloughjordan Community Archive!

Watch this space for further updates in the coming months as we start to assemble and digitise materials for our archive. Applicants wish to create three new homes and a commercial space in the Cloughjordan Granary building

We are delighted and honoured to be the recipients of The Irish Times 2026 National Greenest Town or Village Award 👏👏 The award recognises all the incredible work that voluntary groups like the CCDA, Tidy Towns, Cloughjordan Parish Heritage Group , Community Employment Scheme, Thomas MacDonagh Museum undertake week in, week out, actions big and small, to conserve and enhance our precious natural heritage. The community trails programme and ‘for nature’ initiatives at Knockanacree, the community supported national flagship ‘for climate, nature and people’ projects at Scohaboy Bog with all the local landowners involved were especially recognised for their measurable social, cultural, climate, nature and recreational benefits. The recent Community Biodiversity Action Plan with Community Foundation Ireland involving St Michael’s and No 1 Primary Schools, the Faith Communities of Cloughjordan Parish, Cloughjordan & Borrisokane Union of Parishes , Cloughjordan Methodist Church , Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA & Camógie Club , Cloughjordan FC and Tidy Towns public consultation events was also highly praised👏

This one is for all our local volunteers who care deeply about where they live, work and play! 🥳🎂👏👏👏🙂
