1st Tipperary Ventures planned their first International trip.

London was the destination, with South London Scout Centre being our base while staying in London.

Ventures planned their days out in the city to see the sites, shops, lots and lots of trains.

Evenings were chilled with the ventures cooking their evening meal and preparing for the next days adventure.

On one of our last nights at the Scout Centre we met a Scout Group from Austria and Ventures got the chance to meet another scout group and trade neckerchiefs/badges.

Thanks to our Ventures and also to Scouters/Rovers for making the trip happen!

Clonmel Scout Group Annual Summer Camp 2026 - Ardmore Beach Co. Waterford.

Amongst all the activities that happen on our annual summer camp scouts and ventures are brought to the water nearly everyday on camp.

As part of the water activities scouts and ventures get to use our kayaks and canoes on a regular basis during the camp. They also get to just have fun and swim in the sea and thankfully with the warm weather that we experienced this year for once the water was actually bearable 😂.

Scouts and ventures also took part in our annual raft race while in the water where they compete to win the Fr Joe Purcell Raft Race Cup.

Scouts and ventures love getting into the water and getting the chance to cool off after the day’s activities.

22nd Scouts headed to Sandy Banks to have one of their last outdoor meetings before the evenings start to get shorter.

The scouts worked together to complete a raft while other scouts were finishing off their stage 1 paddling as the theory part had been completed in another meeting.

Thanks again to our committed scouters/rovers for providing such an engaging programme for our scout section.

Best of luck to all Scouts heading back to school and to those starting secondary school.

Congratulations to the Clonmel 22nd Shark Patrol who achieved Silver Standard at the Phoenix Challenge held in Castlesaunderson Scout Centre, Co. Cavan.

Scouts worked together over 4 days to complete different tasks as a team including, pioneering, cooking, campcraft, team challenges and more.

Wishing our 22nd Scouts Shark Patrol the very best of luck as they travel to Castle Saunderson for The Phoenix Challenge 2026. We know they will do great and that they will do our group and county proud.

Massive work has been done in preparation for both county shield and the Phoenix.

Clonmel Scout Group Annual Summer Camp 2026 - Ardmore Beach Co. Waterford

As part of our camp program scouts and ventures don’t only have their days filled with plenty of activities but most importantly their evenings and nights are also filled with fun activities within the Marquee.

Night activities are a way of not only helping scouts and ventures to get to know each other better but also as a way of helping to relax and unwind after their day’s activities.

Here’s some of the night activities that the scouts and ventures got up to on annual camp…

Overall a great variety of activities were put on for both scouts and ventures over annual camp. We extend a huge thank you to the leaders who put a lot of time into creating some of the night activities for annual camp.

Karaoke and Just Dance seem to be very popular with the scouts and Ventures.. even if their singing and dancing is questionable.. it’s always great to see scouts and ventures enjoying the night activities.

Clonmel Scout Group Annual Summer Camp 2026 - Ardmore Beach Co. Waterford.

On the first Friday of annual camp scouts went on another off site day and took a trip into Dungarvan where they went to the cinema to see Moana and took part in an orienteering course around Dungarvan.

Saturday came and it was a chance for scouts to show off their Athletic experience during the annual sports day on camp.

Scouts and ventures took part in a number of sports events. They took part in events such as the egg and spoon, sack race, horse and jockey and welly toss to name a few.

Always a highlight of annual camp for both scouts and ventures.

Clonmel Scout Group Annual Summer Camp 2026 - Ardmore Beach Co. Waterford

Post coming back from their overnight in Glenshelane scouts got the opportunity to cook their own evening meal on their own sites using a BBQ.

Scouts and Ventures cooked a delicious meal of hot dogs, chicken skewers and got provided baked potatoes from the marquee kitchen.

On the Thursday of the first week there was a themed disco as their evening activity post a day of bases and cooking as part of the Peter Walsh competition.

The theme of annual camp was Disney this year so both scouts and ventures put in some great effort along with leaders to dress up for the disco.

Scouts and ventures danced the evening away in the marquee.
