Our monthly Sunday Morning Outing was held on 18 October to Massey’s Woods in the Dublin Mountains, and the weather was wonderful, a lovely autumn day.

It was attended by Siobhan, Brendan, Michael, Gillian, Gabrielle, Noleen, Brian, Suzana and Gareth.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE RE CHANGE OF PLANS FOR TONIGHT TUESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER.

Dear members,

Due to adverse weather conditions the outing to Dun Laoghaire tonight is cancelled.

Let's try to make the best of it on short notice at the Áras.

To experienced members, we'll be relying on you to help us put together a few stations for people to work at, gain experience and learn. So if you have experience with a particular setup that you've used in the past, or perhaps something you've being thinking about, please bring it along and lets try it out together.

As Gay mentioned, could everyone bring their cameras, flashes, lights, backdrops, props and subjects to shoot. We want to try and bring new and old members together in an interactive and interesting workshop, where everyone can gain something.

We're looking for everyone's support to make this a success.

No Meeting in Aras Chronain Tuesday 29 September – outing to Dun Laoghaire instead.

Hi all, please note there is no meeting at the Aras on Tuesday 29 September, as we are heading out to Dun Laoghaire for an evening / night shoot.

We are meeting at the East Pier at 8pm. There are several nearby carparks, including the Dun Laoghaire baths carpark and The Dun Laoghaire Harbour carpark. You'll find those easily on Google maps.

Sunset us actually around 7pm, so if you want to catch that, then you'll need to arrive a little earlier.

If anyone needs a lift, can you contact the person you normally get a lift from, or let us know here, and we'll make arrangements for car pooling.

Projected Images Themes – please note that the Projected Images Competitions for this year have the following themes.

1.⁠ ⁠Objects from the kitchen – Hand in 13 October 2026, for Competition 20 October 2026.
2.⁠ ⁠Industry – Hand In 01 December 2026, for competition 08 December 2026.
3.⁠ ⁠Pristine Objects – Hand In 09 February 2027, for competition 17 February 2027.
4.⁠ ⁠Light painting – Hand In 13 February 2027, for competition 20 April 2027.

You may submit up to 4 Digital images in each of these Projected Images Competitions and they may be in colour or monochrome.

The Mono Print Competitions – held on the same Competition nights – do not have any specific theme.

Recents
2 events happened on Sunday 20 September.

First was a Sunday Morning Outing to Dublin Docklands which Siobhan, Brian, Jack, Donal and Mick attended.

Second was the IPF National Nature and wildlife Competition at the Westgrove Hotel in Clane where Brendan, Aoife, Barbara, Joe, Tim, Gillian and Louise (who got 3 scores of 14 out of a possible 15) attended.

Peoples Photography Exhibition

The Annual People's Photography Exhibition will be held on Saturday and Sunday next, 29th and 30th of August at St Stephens Green Dublin, and a number of our Members will be exhibiting their images.

This is always a very interesting event and gives the public to see the imagination and expertise involved in making these images, and is a great opportunity to meet and chat to the photographers involved.
