💚 A Beautiful Gift for Our Residents 💚
We are thrilled to share that a brand-new Sensory Room has been installed at Clonakilty Community Hospital — a calm, comforting space designed to bring peace, joy, and connection to residents, especially those living with dementia.

This wonderful project was made possible entirely by our amazing community, who helped raise €14,000 through donations and fundraising events. Every euro, every effort, and every act of kindness has contributed to creating a space that will make a real difference in people’s daily lives.

From all of us at Cairde Clonakilty Hospital, thank you for your generosity, compassion, and support. Together, we’ve created something truly special for the people we care for. 💫

🎶 Heartfelt Thanks from Cairde!

We were absolutely delighted to receive a generous donation of €2,430.63 — the proceeds from a fantastic night of music and community spirit at DeBarra’s Folk Club! 🙌

A very special thank you to Barth Harrington,former school principal, for organising and taking to the stage himself, bringing people together for a brilliant cause. 🎤👏

Also huge thanks to Ray Blackwell, and the amazing team at DeBarra’s, as well as everyone who attended and supported the event.

Every euro raised goes to support the patients at Clonakilty Community Hospital, these contributions help us at Cairde to continue to financially support and improve the facilities at the hospital.

We are so excited as our annual Flag Day place is taking place tomorrow Saturday July 19th, this much-anticipated event aims to raise essential funds for the purchase of a new 3D Design Sensory room for the Saoirse Unit which is the dedicated dementia-specific unit at Clonakilty Community Hospital.

Volunteers will be stationed at various locations around the town, every contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in enhancing the facilities and services provided to our community’s elderly and infirm.
We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive from the local community and tomorrow’s glad day will be no different! All funds raised during Flag Day go directly towards improving patient care but this year we have a specific mission and that is to raise funds for a new sensory room at the hospital.

The event promises to be a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and support a vital local institution. We at Cairde Clonakilty Community Hospital extends ourheartfelt thanks to all volunteers and donors for their continued generosity and commitment.
