One of the highlights of the evening was presenting Lourdes Diaries to the guests.

These special diaries are kept by the carers, who continue to add photographs and memories throughout the week in Lourdes, creating a wonderful keepsake of their Easter journey.

This is just another lovely evening, celebrating friendships, memories, and the special bond that continues long after the pilgrimage.

On Friday evening, our Northern Region held its Annual General Meeting.

It was a very productive meeting, with a strong focus on planning future training opportunities and a regional fundraising initiative — watch this space for more details!

The evening concluded with the election of officers for the coming year.

Over 50 performers took to the stage at Ballyfad Community Hall on Friday, May 22 for a night filled with showstopping performances from locals including those from Caroline Flemings Irish Dancing Academy.

This year, all funds raised from the night went towards the Rise and Shine Trust Group 92.

All monies raised supports taking our guests to Lourdes each year.

Northern Group 93 enjoyed a wonderful reunion last weekend, filled with shared memories, laughter, and stories retold alongside guests and families.

A special highlight of the day was watching footage from their unforgettable week in Lourdes — clips full of music, craic, smiles, and special moments, all beautifully captured by the carers throughout the pilgrimage.

Each guest also received a copy to take home and share with family, allowing the “rise and shine” of Lourdes to live on long after the pilgrimage is over. 💙

Group 190 based in the North had their reunion last weekend! They watched videos from their week away and shared their favourite memories from Lourdes, reliving all the amazing moments together. ❤️

Afterwards, they enjoyed a pizza and ice cream party while catching up on what everyone has been up to since returning home. 🍕🍦

They also celebrated some special birthdays in the group by singing Happy Birthday together! 🎉

Such a lovely evening spent reminiscing and laughing.

Applications are now open for our Easter Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2027.

If you’re a parent or carer of a young person with additional needs, or you know a family who might benefit - now is the time to apply.

The trip is completely free for our guests. Just make sure to get your application in before the closing date of October 15th.

Scan the QR code on the poster or visit riseandshine.ie to fill in the guest application form.
