Hello everyone, we're Paul, Alan, Francis, Tom, Brendan and Peter from the Kilbeagh Community First Responders (CFR). We're part of a dedicated group of 15 responders working together to serve our community. We're proud to be serving the community of Charlestown and grateful for the trust you've placed in us.

We're always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Being a CFR volunteer is flexible and suits different lifestyles. You'll respond to calls when you're available, and outside of monthly training and staying up-to-date with the latest skills, you're only asked to respond when you can.

We respond to real-life emergencies, and on average, we attend around 4 emergency calls every month. With thousands of people dying from Cardiac Arrest in Ireland every year and 70% occurring either in the home or local community, wouldn't you want to do everything you can to help save a life? Your family, friends, and neighbors could be the ones who benefit from your actions.

By joining our fantastic team, you'll be making a real difference. All training courses are free, and your only commitment is to attend training for 1 hour every month.

If you're interested in learning more about volunteering with us or want to give back to the community, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you! You can message this page or phone 0873878408.

Exciting News! ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’–

Today, we're thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new public access defibrillator at Highway Markings Ltd, Sonnagh F12 TV06! ๐Ÿ™Œ

A huge thank you to Highway Marking Ltd for generously covering the installation costs and to Joe Bell for his outstanding work! ๐Ÿค

We're also incredibly grateful to the McIntyre and Harrington families for their remarkable donations towards the heated cabinet and Heartsine 500P defibrillator. Pictured here are some of the family members who made it all possible! ๐Ÿ™

Special mention to Francis O Doherty, who did fantastic work liaising with all parties to bring this project to life! His dedication and perseverance were instrumental in getting this installation done, and we're truly grateful for his efforts. ๐Ÿ™

This life-saving asset is now proudly serving the Sonnagh community and is linked to the National Ambulance Service 999/112 emergency call system.

To ensure the defibrillator is always ready for use, one of our dedicated responders will check it every 2 weeks. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Also pictured are Francis and another one of our dedicated responders, Dominick Gannon, who work tirelessly to keep our community safe. Thank you, Francis and Dominick, for your invaluable contributions! ๐Ÿ™

Life-saving skills for all ages!

This morning, Kilbeagh Community First Responder team had the pleasure of teaching kids at Scoil Losa N.S Carracastle summer camp about the chain of survival, emergency calls, Eircodes, and CPR. The kids were very engaged and enthusiastic learners!

But it's not just kids who can benefit from learning these skills! As adults, we can also make a difference in our community by knowing what to do in an emergency. Whether you're a parent, a caregiver, or just someone who wants to be prepared, learning life-saving skills can be a game-changer.

Kilbeagh Community First Responder team is here to help! Contact us to learn more about our training sessions and let's work together to build a safer, more resilient community.

Share with friends and family to spread the word!

We are looking forward to teaching our future responder Scoil Iosa NS this Thursday.

"Great news for our community! ๐ŸŒŸ A concern was raised by First Responder John Gately that the route to the nearest public access defibrillator for Charlestown Swimming Pool is currently blocked whilst the East Mayo all-weather track is being built ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ. The new track will be a fabulous asset for Charlestown, providing a fantastic facility for our community to stay active and healthy. We're thrilled to announce that we've found a solution! ๐Ÿค We've arranged to temporarily place a defibrillator at the swimming pool until it closes in September.

The photo shows First Responder John Gately handing over our defibrillator to Michaela McEntire, the Operational Manager at the pool. To ensure the defibrillator is always ready for use, John will also carry out bi-weekly checks. ๐Ÿ™

This is a fantastic example of our community working together to prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents. Huge thanks to John for bringing this to our attention and to everyone involved in making this happen!

Do you know someone who would benefit from a personal monitored alarm?
The Seniors Alert Scheme enables people to continue to live securely in their homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind.

Such an important piece of equipment for our Seniors to have access to - it's not only in case you have a fall or feel unwell but also for security if you feel uncomfortable if some unknown person calls to your house - press the alarm.

Please let seniors/ neighbours know about this scheme as it really can be a life saver!
