A busy day for all competitors at Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo. A special mention to two of our own branch members who competed in their first Fleadh today - Daniel Towey & Amelia Leonard, grandchildren of our branch President Johnny Towey. Daniel was placed 3rd & recommended for Connacht in the U12 Banjo. Amelia was competing in the U10 Harp and played beautifully for her first time entering the competition. Congrats also to their teachers Theresa O’Grady & Gráinne Hambly. Today also marks the 7th anniversary of the passing of their granny Kathleen Towey RIP, how proud she would have been of both Daniel & Amelia today 🪕🪉

Great to see a full house in the Thatch this morning for the Kilmovee Community Centre annual St. Patrick’s Day seisiún. Thanks to the pupils & teachers of Kilmovee and Tavrane national schools for joining us and keeping the music alive in our local classrooms. Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh go léir! ☘️🎶

To mark St. Brigid’s Day, Kilmovee Comhaltas are hosting a Family Music Session from 2-4pm in Kilmovee Community Centre. As special guests, we will be joined by All Ireland banjo champion Martin Woods from Swinford Comhaltas; as well as students from Kilmovee NS as ‘Na Brideoga’. Bígí Linn!
