Co Cavan Nyah Traditional Music NYAH Cavan is about Irish Music Song & Dance .Follow us on www.cavanmusic.org
Email [email protected] This is a festival of all things Cavan.

Now in its 21 st year, the firmly established Nyah was given another boost in recent weeks when Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority selected it as a flagship festival for the North West region. This is proof positive that Cavan’s annual celebration of Irish music has truly come of age, and will help in further promoting the county and its music in every corner of the world. Nyah derives from that specific word we use to describe what makes traditional music so unique. Lift, Soul, Feeling — no other word quite captures the essence of great traditional playing, dancing or singing quite like nyah. You can take part in a packed programme of events across the county, ranging from major concerts to intimate pub sessions, with a host of extras including music and song workshops, awards presentations and book and CD launches. We have online webcasts during Covid 19 . The word “nyah” refers to the very expression of the tradition … to its lift or “soul”. Nyah festival celebrates the traditional music, song, dance and culture of County Cavan, the Ulster tradition and the county’s very own musical style. The Nyah programme promotes events throughout the county on a year-round basis.
