It was lovely to meet and thank the family and friends of Thomas Moore, Ballinagh, who held a 7 a side Gaelic Tournament in his memory. Many thanks to all who took part and contributed to the wonderful €15,000 raised for the Trust.

Our Field day will be on Sunday may 3rd. Promises to be a great family day out with something for everyone. Vintage car run will be doing a 50 km route so if you have a vintage car bring it along run leaving at 12.15 and vintage tractor run leaving at 12.30.The unveiling of the plaque and plough dedicated to our late friend Hughie Smith will be at 2.30 followed by the kids tractor run.Threshing will be happening along with a host of other activities ,so save this one for the diary. There is only 3 days left until our tractor run, im just going to pop up the routes, there will be safety bikes in front of the runs to lead the way.

Farmer Phil will be there to see of the run
Crowes burger van will be there to keep us all fed
There will be tea and coffee served in the canteen
And at the end there will be our massive raffle to finish the day ok.

Down through Ballyhaise village
Castletara cross
Drung
Laragh
Turn right at the cross pub
Head back down the castletara road
Back through Ballyhaise
And finish up back at the equestrian centre

Route for the vintage tractors

Leaving the equestrian centre
Turn right after Gem oils
Come down the Antiduff road
Turn left onto the cootehill road
Turn right up the corratubber road
Over to castlemanor nursing home
Go through the roundabout
Over to clonervy
Back down the stradone road towards Ballyhaise
Then finish at the equestrian centre

Delighted to support The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust

A big, big thank you to the ever faithful and hardworking committee of “Kevin’s Christmas Lights” for once again having KBRT as one of their beneficiaries from their spectacular cavalcade through the streets of Cavan.Their kindness this year raised a much appreciated €7,160 for the Trust.

Following a very successful 2025 Kevin's Christmas Lights Vehicle Parade on Sunday 21st December, we were delighted to have raised a total of €28,000, which was divided out to the nominated beneficiaries for 2025 - Cuan Cancer Support Cavan, St. Christopher's Hospice, The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust & Vincey McGee Benefit Fund. Presentations were made in Tm's kilnaleck The Vintage on Friday Jan 2nd 2026.
Thank you to everybody who worked tirelessly to make the event such a success. A special word of thanks to all the people who entered vehicles and went to such great lengths to decorate them so well - you really lit Cavan up.
