19 years ago on the 10th and 11th of January 2007 The Pere Charles and the Honeydew ll were lost off the coast of Waterford.

The Pere Charles was fishing herring south of Hook Head and was returning back to Dunmore East when she sank and sadly claimed all five of her crew.

The crew that were lost were Skipper Tom Hennessy 30, Pat Hennessy 48, Billy O’Connor 52, Andrei Dyrin 32 and Patrick Coady 27.

Only hours later, the Honeydew II from Kinsale which was fishing off the coast of Waterford at Mine Head was hit by a wave sank within minutes.

Two fishermen lost their lives, Skipper Ger Bohan aged 39 and 31-year-old crew member Tomasz Jagla from Poland.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET THEM R.I.P
