🫶Beautiful creative retreat for survivors of domestic abuse

“The First Time I Felt Free” – is being led by Betsy Cornwell – NYT bestselling author, domestic abuse survivor, and University of Galway creative writing teacher, in collaboration with Tereza Červeňová – award-winning photographer with work in the National Portrait Gallery, also a survivor.

The project consists of an in person and/or online workshop to explore survivors’ own stories of freedom through creative writing. The in person event includes a portrait photography session that celebrates each survivor.

Stories and images can heal. This retreat offers a rare chance to be truly seen – through your words and through a portrait – among fellow survivors.

What a brilliant celebration of Africa Day at Trinity Arts Centre this weekend! 🌍✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. We had delicious food, amazing music, dancing, poetry, and shared stories. It was a beautiful celebration of culture, community, and connection.

Special thanks to all the children and young people who performed, and to our incredible Inclusion Worker Dorothy, whose hard work and dedication helped make the day the success it was 🥳

We loved seeing everyone come together and hope you enjoy these moments from the day 📸
