Castlemaine Events Committee are organising an event on Sunday 12th July 2015 in Castlemaine Village. Registration and starting point will be at St.

The event name will be: 'Launching the Fundraiser to Honour our Local Hero the 'Wild Colonial Boy' 'Jack Duggan' to Erect a Full Size Bronze Monument in the Village of Castlemaine'. This promises to be a truly fantastic occasion for the village of Castlemaine. It will be a fun-filled day for families and suitable for all age groups. In conjunction with this event, we are holding a "10-K Run, Walk or Jog", starting at 12 mid-day on Sunday 12th July. Joseph's National School in Castlemaine. Registration will commence at 10am. €10 per adult, €5 per student, €20 per family. Every participant will receive a finishers prize. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the school. 🚨 Jack Duggan Festival Quiz Night 🚨

Castlemaine Events Committee are very pleased to announce the introduction of the first ever Jack Duggan Festival in Castlemaine Village which will be a three-day community event held from Friday, July 17th - Sunday July 19th 2026 that will celebrate the homeplace of Jack Duggan, “The Wild Colonial Boy”.

As part of our preparations leading up to this new and exciting festival for the local area, we will be holding a Table Quiz on Friday June 12th at 9:00pm in Griffins Bar & Restaurant Castlemaine to raise funds for the inaugural staging of the Jack Duggan Festival.

The Jack Duggan Festival will also be Officially Launched on Friday June 12th at the Table Quiz fundraiser.

A full and comprehensive festival schedule will be announced very soon with plenty of top quality music, fun and family entertainment guaranteed across the weekend and one not to be missed!!

Castlemaine Events Committee are now seeking your support in raising vital funds through the Jack Duggan Festival Table Quiz in 3 weeks time to make the weekend a massive success in our local area.

Tables of 4 are priced at €40 for the Table Quiz on Friday June 12th in Griffins Bar and Restaurant. A raffle will also be held on the night with some fantastic spot prizes on offer and complimentary finger food will be served to all those participating.

We are calling on all members of the local community and surrounding areas to come and join us as we bring this community festival to life, one that we envisage will be a massive boost for the village moving forward.

Please spread the news to all your friends and family and we look forward to seeing you all for our fundraiser on Friday June 12th at Griffins Bar and Restaurant Castlemaine.

Castlemaine Events Committee wishes to express our sincere gratitude to Kerry County Council for the awarding of a grant amounting to €500.00 under the 2026 Community Support Fund towards the St. Patrick's Day Parade. It is very much appreciated by all involved in the organisation of the event in the locality.

Castlemaine Events Committee will hold a meeting tonight, Tuesday 14th April at 8:30pm in Griffins Bar & Restaurant Castlemaine to discuss the potential organisation of a Jack Duggan Festival in July. All are welcome to attend.

Castlemaine Events Committee/Tidy Towns will be taking part in KWD Kerry County Clean Up Day on Saturday April 11th (tomorrow).

This is the annual clean up across the county that we have taken part in for a good number of years.

We will meet at The Quay beside the River Maine at 10:00am.

We will have bags, gloves, high vis jackets, litter pickers etc.

All welcome and please spread the word.

Castlemaine Events Committee will host our 12th St Patrick's Day Parade on Tuesday, March 17th at 11:15am.

Registration from 10:45am at Flynn's Yard for vehicles and Geaney's for walking groups.

We would like to extend an open invite to any individuals, groups, clubs, schools, societies, childcare providers, businesses, community organisations etc that would be interested in taking part in the Parade to come along and enjoy another fun-filled occasion. All floats are most welcome.

Children's Entertainment on the day and medals will be presented to all participants in the Parade. Trophies will be awarded by our Parade Judges to the best floats/groups on display.

The Killorglin & District Pipe Band will lead out the Parade along with the Lord Mayor of Castlemaine Michael Flynn.

🎅🏻🎄 Official Christmas Tree Lighting 🎅🏻🎄

Castlemaine Events Committee are very pleased to announce details for the 2025 Official Christmas Tree Lighting in The Village on Thursday, December 4th at 7:30pm as we look forward to Christmas beginning in style with plenty of entertainment and festive cheer guaranteed for all ages!

An occasion not to be missed and one sure to be enjoyed by all, bring along the family and sample beautiful carol singing around the Christmas tree by talented local musicians and complimentary mulled wine and hot chocolate with thanks to Helen, Frank and all the staff at Griffins Bar & Restaurant Castlemaine, a wonderful community gathering is planned as we light up the Christmas tree.

We hope to have your company next week and look forward to ushering in the most wonderful time of the year in Castlemaine with plenty ceol agus craic!
